BTW, I don't wanna be missunderstood, it's just I don't know much about music, I just enjoy it, so if you start asking me questions about the chords and that stuff you'll see that I can't answer anything. I like Stuart Zender because of his personality and attitude, but almost all of you love him to death. What's the thing that makes him so special? Why do most people think he was better than Nick?
Again, don't get me wrong, please. I'd just like to know more about this, as I know nothing about music, and this SZ issue is something that have always made feel sad because I could never understand most of you  .

Well. I am not a bass player, but I am a musician. And as long as there has been music industry people have made lists of greatest bassist, guitarists, pianists and so on. It is always a question of taste, originality and feel .
Players are like instruments. They play/are played as long as it sounds good to the ears of the player.
Stuart and Nick are both great bass players and I think this has been many times perhaps discussed but Nick plays a bit more 'straight forward' as where Stuart's style includes slight delays (0,01 sec before or after beat now and then), which causes a human alike groove. The bass sound also depends of course on the instrument. I find Stuart's sound on Jamiroquai more warm and grand as where Nick's sound is a bit thinner. It also affects that Sync and especially Afo are sounding more cold than the 3 first albums - not only talking about bass here.

your question is easy to be responded.... (at last with what i think about it)
Stuart Zender was the first Jamiroquai Bassist... he built the original sound of the band... and wrote amazing basslines for amazing tracks for Jamiroquai, by the other side, Nick (a great bassist too) is a funky guy, but just compare him with Stu. Stu's performances were amazing! Just see the solos he did in Club Citta' 1993 on Tighten Up, or the solos in the Phoenix Festival on the tracks Emergency on Planet Earth and Travelling Without Moving... he did great spectacles with Jamiroquai and he was a flash bassist (even his bass was amazing).... Nick did a good job but he wasn't at the high position Stuart was... if you see him playing the same songs that Stuart played before, you can see the difference...
