I thought they would be more likely to censor 'sexfunk' than 'candy'
But censors work in strange, strange ways... _________________

I don't think this song is about drugs. I rather think Jay sings about sex... "It slips in, it feels good..." you know what that means!?! And Jay has given up coke, so I think if this song was about drugs, it wouldn't be on the album. I think the candy man is either a pimp (because of Sugar-Spice) or the devil.
(By the way, my latin teacher always said: "You shall not think!!!" ) |

well i think this song is about a combination of cocaine and sex... these are my first thoughts after listning to that song...
what does candy man mean.?
...
and why shouldn´t there be a "drug song" on the album....? jay has given it up... but i think he still thinks about that time.... _________________

Why not???
Because of this candy man again, I think Jay thought of sex, because the candy man gives candy to little children, and then returns home and collects the money which Sugar-Spice has earned over the day...would be the same if you had sex with somebody who is dressed as an angel, you know? Oh, you're right, maybe we're really getting offtopic... |

yeah well if they were that bothered because the song is about prostittution aswell-why dont they just censor the whole thing!- same with sdisj-some people were nearby at the time like david/funkin and some of us have freinds and family around that area like virtually insane and todd myself-but im sure none of us lot rae overly mad about censoring the word bomb _________________ -

Hi Guys,
After all this years, i've found a official release which I'll post here.
The song since it was sliced, so the word BOMB was taken out.
So here it stays the link for it, to download:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/o12d90
The image of the CD:

If the file is deleted... just drop me PM, if you want the Mp3! _________________

Back in the old days, it was restricted due to the Al Qaeda.
Still is... in some places. For example in a aeroport, or in a plane.
Imagine, someone singing the song in the plain... some could just hear BOMB and nothing else. Panic would begin.
This might have been a reason... could be more.
Just guessing here... _________________

It would turn a good version. Instead of Bomb, place Question! _________________

funny to read through some old stuff!
The first 'Candy Man' I think is Sammy Davis, talking sweet!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iIraEbr6NE
but 'Candy Man' today insinuates supplier of drugs.
or supplier of good feelings, i.e. sex.
I always love the urban dictionary definition!
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=candyman
| Quote: |
| The CandyMan comes to the ghetto every other tuesday in Detroit. |
also -could be like a Sugar Daddy, takes care of needs.
as for the song "Feels Just Like it Should" and the word 'sexfunk' I think that part of the song was edited. It never sounds right to me.
And even if drugs are over, they are great influences for songs.
So was the song by the Gap Band banned from radio?? |
