How big will be the venue in Amneville?
In Berlin, the audience was not so numerous. (I would say about 2.000 people)That was nice.
The concert had been advertised on Fritz Radio which is aiming at people up to 30.
Still, there were a lot more of funkers over 35 than I had expected.

HAPPY and damn tired.... that's how I feel today! Interesting mixture...lol!
 
Just a few notes for you, before I make it and write another review...
Made it to the first row this time! 
And got the chance to meet the band at an aftershow meet. Had a long chat with Paul, who is such a nice guy!
Got home at 6 in the morning. Had only 90 minutes of sleep... 
So, that's why you have to be a bit patient with the detailed version of my review... this time with pics from the concert!
Stay tuned and watch this thread for more....

P.S.: Oh, man... Paola!!!  I was searching for you as well... but couldn't see you. I feel so bad that I haven't contacted you before... I lost your phonenumber and forgot to ask you again... I just remembered when we were already in the car on our way to Berlin, but it was too late then. Would have been so great to meet you again...  Hope we can arrange another meet one day!!!

How cool!!! Yes, he looks really nice and seems to fit well into the band. Sure you didn't see Jay - he surely had another meeting in the Tour bus

Oh, well, I saw Jay several times there... but I just thought it would be silly to run to him and ask him stupid things again...lol
I prefered to speak to the other bandmembers, who are a bunch of very great guys.

Yes, I know what you mean - and I think for the other guys it's really good to see that the fans also care for them!!! They do such a good job on stage and they should know how we appreciate that!! |

unfortunately the acoustic in the ARENA in berlin isn't the best one due to the fact that it used to be a bus depot. so to be honest it wouldn't be worth to record the concert. a soundboard recording might be great tho but i've no idea how to get one of those.
i'll try to write a review about the concert tonight. still very tired here

My impressions of BERLIN
Ok, finally I have some minutes to write another review:
We have met SpaceKitty with her boyfriend in front of the hall and had a little chat with them before they opend the doors. They both were really excited because this was going to be their first Jamiroquai gig ever!! Always a pleasure to meet Jamirotalkers!
When they opend the doors we were seperated. But we all made it to the first row this time! 
 While we were waiting for the concert to start, we were talking to some fans around us, promoting jamirotalk of course.
We met a nice guy called "Julius" who is a regular reader of funkin.com.
I am sure he will pop in here sooner or later!
The setlist was nearly the same as in Hamburg and Duesseldorf. But they didn't play Dynamite which I think was such a pity, because Dynamite was so fantastic in Hamburg - one of the best songs! Very long and with great solos of the bandmembers... especially Matt! Too bad they didn't do it this time.
Later Paul told us that Dynamite actually was on the list, but Jay cancelled it.
It was obvious that Jay was pissed because there were problems with the sound and his monitors. I guess he couldn't hear himself and he was angry about the technicians.
But he was still joking with the audience and seemed to be in a party mood. This time he was dancing and jumping a lot, so his hand must be ok again!
They played Canned Heat and Space Cowboy a bit slower... it was a bit different, calmer... interesting version, but I liked it more like they did it in the past. Same with Black Capricorn Day. I missed the power of that song a bit.
But they have made it all good with songs like Love Blind and Use The Force . Sola doing a great job again!!!
During Love Foolosophy Jay again introduced the band. And he forgot to present Paul!! 
 When they started Alright I realized that this concert is going to end soon... way to early. I wish they'd done some more songs- at least one other song to compensate the missing Dynamite. But they didn't.
All in all it was still a great concert! We had a great time, dancing and singing!! 
After the show we met Derrick, Rob and we had a long chat with Paul who is a really nice guy!! Great man!
Later I had the chance to change a few words with Sola. I was very happy to meet him finally after all those email contacts I had with him in the past.
Sorry, I didn't make pictures with the band. I just thought it would be kinda "fan-ish" to ask for photos... so I have everyting in my mind - can't show you.
One thing I wanted you to know: They all know and like jamirotalk!! And I am very sure that we will hear more from the bandmembers here at jamirotalk in the future! 
Oh, our journey back home was horrible, though. Hm, Bear?
Something was wrong with Bear's car... it started to buck a lot, so that we had to stop and call the ADAC (breakdown service).
The guy came after we have waited for 2 hours. We could go on driving at 4 am... so I got home at 6 in the morning.
After 90 minutes of sleep my boys woke me up again. So, that's why I was so tired yesterday.
