Here's another one of Jay's cars that's just come up for sale...

Jamiroquai star's Porsche for sale

22 March 2007

A Porsche owned by Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay is for sale at Auto Trader.co.uk.

Powered by a 3.2-litre V6, the 2005 Porsche Cayenne produces 247bhp and 229lb/ft of pulling power.

Accelerating from 0-62mph in 9.1 seconds, the luxury SUV has a top speed 133mph.

Inside, the motor has been equipped with sat-nav, full leather interior and a top-of-the-range Bose sound system.

Outside, the car benefits from 19-inch alloy wheels, a sports exhaust and silver roof rails.

Jay Kay was the last owner of the basalt black SUV, which also boasts privacy glass.

The singer is famous for his love of cars - in particular Ferraris. Among his motoring stable he counts an Enzo, F40 and F50 – all capable of exceeding 200mph.

The frontman has also had his fair share of brushes with the law and was banned from driving for six months in 2004 after being caught doing 105mph in a 70mph zone.

And it’s not the first car owned by the funk star to appear on the site. Jay Kay’s old Ferrari 360 was also for sale last year.

Now you can get your hands on the motor – which has covered 21,000 miles – for £31,995.

"Flower Power"
Maybe Jay should buy the only 100% Swedish car made today... The Koenigsegg... Koenigsegg CCXR to be precise... the environmentally friendly super sports car.

A 4.7 litre V8 at 1018 hp reached at 7200 rpm and the torque of 1060 Nm peaking at 6100 rpm.

Top speed is said to be +400 km/h. 0-100 km/h in 3.2 secs and 0-200 km/h in 8.5 secs.

It runs off ethanol (E85)!

I wouldn't mind one of these myself. Wink

Made in Margretetorp, Sweden

This certainly ain't no Volvo or SAAB (those are not Swedish anymore IMHO... not 100% anyway).

I believe the "cheapest" Koenigsegg model costs about 350000 EUR. I have no idea what the most expensive one costs. But as far as I know one model costs more than 700000 EUR... and it's quite possible that's not the most expensive one.

Koenigsegg creates each car specifically for each customer.

So I guess it can cost as much as you're prepared to pay and depending on what your needs, wants and wishes are. Wink

The Bugatti Veyron could very well be the most expensive one after all... apparently it costs +1200000 EUR.

The CCX takes Top Gear's top spot!

The Koenigsegg CCX posted a new lap record on the UK Motor Program Top Gear yesterday (the 28th of may). The CCX, driven by the infamous Stig, achieved a lap time of 1.17.6, slashing the previous lap record of 1.18.4.

“This is a very prestigious record which was watched by approximately 250 million TV viewers” stated Christian von Koenigsegg, CEO for Koenigsegg Automotive AB.

The Top Gear program has previously tested all competitors to the Koenigsegg, which make the record even more spectacular.

“We have once more demonstrated to the world that Koenigsegg stands for absolute performance” says Christian.

koenigsegg ccr inside

as i know, the ccx is the most xtreme of the three cars...why...info below

The CCX is the latest iteration of the Koenigsegg CC family. The CCX is in many aspects a new car since it has been re-engineered to comply with the US regulation and market demands. Still, it has been a key issue for the Koenigsegg Team to keep the distinctive and record breaking CC shape. We believe it is important to avoid trends and instead hone the aerodynamic shape of the CC range for the future, only enhancing its unique look and appearance with tighter lines and a more aggressive stance. We also believe in continuity. A new Koenigsegg shall show a clear lineage from its predecessor and shall not follow any other design trends – but enhance its already proven concept and shape to perfection.

CCX stands for Competition Coupe X. The CCX commemorates the 10th anniversary of the completion and test drive of the first CC maiden prototype, which rolled out from the R&D Department in 1996.

more pics

and more pics taken from the site...
the cc8s design, the first production car where all the ideas start...

the emblem of koenigsegg
The shield with its divided fields of red and yellow diamonds - within a blue frame - is based upon the original ancient Coat of Arms of the medieval Koenigsegg family from Schwaben, Germany. The original is a single field of golden diamonds surrounded by ornaments. Christian von Koenigsegg, founder of Koenigsegg Automotive - can trace his lineage back to the late 12th century when his ancestors became Knights of the German / Roman Empire.

When the logotype of Koenigsegg was created, it was quite clearly a derivation of the original family coat of arms. At the top end you recognize a crowning ornament - a golden monogram on blue - representing the letters KCC for Koenigsegg CC. The Koenigsegg logotype was created by Jacob Låftman, a highly talented grafic designer who unfortunately passed away in 2002. Jacob was a close friend of Christian von Koenigsegg’s; the two grew up in the same neighbourhood and went to school together

i know the cc8s is not longer in production but for me is still the best one Cool
