they look the same but have different features.
the first one started it all, which was completely digital
then the rumble feature was introduced
later, they released the first version of the dualshock, which still had digital buttons and analog sticks
the ps2 got the dualshock2, which had analog buttons and analog sticks plus a stronger rumble effect
the sixaxis has analog buttons, connects via bluetooth to the ps3 but has no rumble feature

exactly... but see the PS and the Xbox, they don't look like consoles... they're perfectly two PCs!! i mean, they're an exaggeration! internet connection, hard drives, operative systems, Wi-Fi, Memory Sticks, DVD functions, usb, bluetooth... next time i'll be doing my university work in those consoles... the videogame feeling, for me its over... and on the other side, the interaction of the Wii with the users makes it more attractive!
who knows... maybe when i get back, there are 8 posts telling me how wrong i am... that's the way this forum is... so, there you go... |

but that's what the Wii offers as well except for the DVD feature but that has already been announced.
i know what you mean though. the good old days of just popping a disc into the console and start playing are pretty much over. these days you need to update and install patches, have an online account and download patches for the games, be online 24/7 and talk over a headset with other players. i guess, it's just the way gaming is heading these days.
i agree with you about the concept of the Wii controller. it's new and innovative and most important GREAT FUN! i just hope that developers will take it into the right direction and not end up with a bunch of point and click adventures. but the games that are out there at the moment do show a good direction... |

I think that the Wii will get better love as time goes on and people realize the potential......who cares if someone has to learn a new joypad...
change is good.
guess what? I think the Playstation 3 is way overpriced. Do you know how much ganja you can buy with $600???????? ha ha .....
not worth the money.
I still have an Intellivision, a Sega Genesis, and Nintendo Gamecube.
I play Star Wars I & II on Gamecube because that game rules!!!
the only thing I dont like about Gamcube is that there is no Grand Theft Auto!!!

Hello,
One of my good friends was LUCKY enough to get a Nintendo Wii BEFORE christmas, and I spent most of yesterday trying it out . I must admit, it was the WEIRDEST video gaming experience I have EVER had.....well the LAST weird experience was with the Nintendo Superscope 8 . The controls take a LONG time to get used too, "Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess" was a nice game, but the graphics were a bit too choppy in some places..... plus the constant reminder of "Aim Wii Controller At screen" prompt annoyed the living heck out of me when I tried to shoot either the "hurricane boomarang" or "bow & arrows" . Overall, it's a CUTE system, but not of my flavor, that is, of a shiny, jet black, obsidian rock colored PS3....NOW THAT is a system. Thanks for listening and happy Wiiing!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 _________________

ermmmm... jamirofan, i'm surprised that you had problems with the wiimote at all. the normal learning curve is about a minute...
and when you get the message 'point the wiimote at the tv' it normally means three things: you are too close, you are too far away or your sensor-bar is out of place |

My dad says I'm too old for a console, and I'm only 15...
How do I deal with THAT problem? |

the playstation controller is the best. as far as i know..and i already try them all. ok but im suspicious i only play PES 6. and i play it on the computer with the PS 2 controller. i didn't like the x-box , x-box 360 , dreamcast, game cube,n64 controllers.(at least to play this games....or a race game) It fits very well on ur hands, and don't tired them..the other ones are kind huge and not so easy learn to play. _________________ hooked up |
