Hey, we're two there. It's much nicer to have a tangible album on your hands, and listening to it while watching the cover and inside pics and reading the misprinted lyrics along _________________

I know! It's a ritual!! XD
But I bet almost everyone here feel the same way, since most of us are quite old school, internet kinda takes that feeling away.

Yeah I grew up singing along TWM on the big living room sound system. And I still like to do it!
Ok except maybe the singing part! _________________

For me I think the physical vs data thing has become dependant on how I view the artist and the availability of the music.
For example, I would never consider paying for a Jamiroquai download so long as the same thing was available to buy in physical form. And I would have no problem paying a bit extra for the physical thing.
On the other hand, for another artist who I consider pretty good, but is not one of my absolute favorites (such as Radiohead) I wouldn't be as bothered about the physical thing. I can see how a massive Radiohead fan would be though.
And if the music is offered in both formats, I don't think there's really an issue for anyone anyway, is there? I mean, you just get whichever one you want, right? |

Yes of course Andrew, as long as the album gets the physical release too, everything is alright, at least for me!

Talking about new directions in music industry, Madonna just left Warner to sign for he world's largest concert promoter, quite complex deal with regards to records, gigs, etc... All in one hand!
| Quote: |
A 10-year, $120 million pact that would bring all of Madonna's music business into the Live Nation fold is close to being signed.
The non-traditional deal has been rumored for months, but the Wall Street Journal unveiled particulars in a story on its website Wednesday. Madonna would receive a mix of cash and stock and give Live Nation the rights to sell three studio albums, promote concert tours, sell merchandise and license her name.
The Live Nation deal is similar to recent pacts in which recording artists create partnerships that share in music and concert ticket revenue. Korn, for example, pacted with EMI to give the diskery a piece of the concert money; Interscope benefits financially from the ancillary interest of the Pussycat Dolls. Warner Music Group only makes money from Madonna's recorded music sales.
It would be the first entry into recorded music for Live Nation, the world's largest concert promoter. Live Nation, which was formerly a part of Clear Channel, has promoted Madonna tours for years and grossed more than $400 million from her perfs.
Intriguingly, Madonna would be the first of her early '80s superstar peers to step outside the label system to continue making recordings. Prince went a self-release route until he had far greater success leasing his albums to Sony for distribution. Bruce Springsteen signed a reported $50 million pact a few years back giving Columbia the rights to release 10 of his albums.
The package includes a general advance of $17.5 million and advance payments for three albums of $50 million to $60 million, the Journal reported. When she reupped with Warner Music in 1991, her deal called for advances of $25 million per album.
Madonna, 49, has been with Warner Music since Sire Records released her debut in 1983. She moved to Warner Bros. Records in 1990. She received a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nomination last month.
Her potentially last disc for Warner is slated for release either late this year or early next year.

Hello there,
Well, from the last e-mail I received from them, sometime in early November, they said they were still in "closed Beta mode" . That is, giving the artists that are signed on for their site more time to build their own individualized studios and decide on what music they will initially offer for pay download and such. So I think we won't hear anything "Concrete" from AllDiggDown till maybe after the New Year, and it kind of makes sense that Jamiroquai would be making "baby steps" to building up their online presense ( First step being tweaking around with their Official Site ). But of course they assured me when they are ready they would immediately e-mail me with access instructions to their service, so when I know ! Thanks for listening and Happy Holidays!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 _________________

Well, I agree with you lot (most of you it seems) that to have a Jamiroquai CD in your hand is worth the cost!! (I do like a little recycling and have bought many second hand though!!) _________________ We could have saved the Earth but we were too damned cheap.
