EOPE - Revolution 1993

ROTSC - Stillness In Time

TWM - High Times

SYNK - Falling

AFO - Picture Of My Life

DYN - Dynamite

Foruntately or unfortunately (I don't know it yet) the lyrics of "Falling" is absolutely true for me.

about Falling's lyrics It's the same for me Greg! Wink

Lyrics of Where Do We Go From Here are Brillant because it's translating the one way lover's mood.

The conclusion is fair : I'm gonna learn learn learn, that's the way love goes...

I'm stealing Greg House's format (and maybe a few tracks Smile

EOPE - Revolution 1993 (after listening to countless live versions)

ROTSC - Mr Moon (never understood why everyone loved it, but it really grew on me)

TWM - Everyday

SYNK - Supersonic (this is tough, one of my fav albums but this wasn't instant love for me

AFO - Main Vein (after watching Live in Verona)

DYN - Electric Mistress
(if you like House music you should check kraak and smaak's remix of it)

HT - Runaway (instantly liked Radio but runaway didn't sit well for a bit. I enjoy it now)

EOPE - Revolution 1993

ROTSC - Manifest Destiny (and I am kicking myself for not LOVING this one sooner)

TWM - You Are My Love

SYNK - Where Do We Go From Here

AFO - Feel So Good

DYN - Nothing really grew on me as such with this album, not that I can remember anyway. I either liked a song instantly or I didn't and my opinion of it didn't change (or it didn't change strongly enough to make an impression on me).

What about hot Tequila Brown? (The Lovebox version was amazing IMHO)

I never disliked it to begin with. It wasn't one of my absolute favourites; just one of those 'middle range' songs that I'd happily listen to but rarely think about. And that never really changed.

To be honest, when I first got into the band in the mid-90s, I was a major "house head." (I still am, but I have expanded my horizons considerably.) That means that anything under 120 BPM was practically unacceptable!! lol

One day I actually bought EOPE, ROTSC, and TWM all in one shot (there is a story behind that!), and listened to them all in one night. (That was the night that they became my official Favorite Band.) At the time, my favorites were the uptempo songs: EOPE, Mr. Moon, Scam, Cosmic Girl, Use the Force, Travelling... I admit that at first, I skipped quite a few of the midtempo and slower ones, thinking that they were too "mellow" for me. Embarassed (Although I did LOVE "Stillness in Time," "Blow Your Mind," and "If I Like it...")

Over time, however, I began listening to the CDs in their entirety, especially during long commutes to work in my car. I figured, I didn't have a cell phone at the time, so I had nothing better to do while sitting in traffic than listen to music! Razz And that's when I discovered the true beauty and diversity in Jamiroquai's music. For instance, I distinctly remember listening to Manifest Destiny, and my eyes literally filling up with tears over the sadness of the lyrics.

There are several others too. On the flip side, I used to skip Planet Home because I thought the beginning was kinda cheesy. Then one day in my car, I must've left the CD running softly while talking on the cell phone. (Which I finally had at that point. Smile) When I got off the phone and turned up the volume, I heard this amazing Latin-style breakdown and said, "WTF is this?!" I'd forgotten that I was listening to Synkronized! Once I realized that it was Planet Home, and that the chorus was actually incredible, I fell in love with the song.

I do find that, sometimes, I like the choruses or bridges more than the verses, or vice-versa. I feel that way about "Revolution" (another song that I used to skip!). The song itself kinda drags on and on, but the bridges are SO amazing - the "jazz flute" solo and then the trumpet solo... Shocked OMG!! I guess that's why they seem to be playing an abridged version of it these days!

AFO - Twenty Zero One - same as above
DYN - Feels Just Like it Should. I'm convinced I'll never like most of this album, unfortunately.

Still trying to like Rock Dust Light Star..

Regarding AFO, I liked most of it from the get-go. I didn't care for SDP, still don't really... and I was on the fence about 2001. But 2001 really grew on me over the years. Now, when I listen to the lyrics, I'm pretty blown away by how spot-on they are, even moreso today in 2010. Shocked Sad Confused Idea

Quote:
2001 - Where do I belong
I got my mind but I don't know where my head has gone

2001 - Baby where you been
It's pornographic, Internet, traffic on the screen

2001 - She's just a maniac
It's not for me but my baby really needs the crack

2001 - Don't want the sex to stop
I took a pill now it's killing me to keep it up

2001 - I know what's goin' on
You wanna take my soul and change it for another one

2001 - Those liquid crystal eyes, they really suit you honey
Let me get them in your size

2001 - By 2032 you can be me, and with a little luck
I can be you

2001 - Let me bless you son
Help you believe with my semi-automatic gun

The two bridges on this song are the best part, imo, and I really wish they were longer by one or two minutes.

I think exactly the same!
And it's curious that some of you don't like "Hot Tequila Brown". As for me, it's one of my favourite songs from "Dynamite".

EOPE: I like the whole album. I just can't find a song that I don't like.

TROTSC: "The Kids". It was and still It is a bit difficult for me to listen to this song. I remember that a friend of mine told me once "The Return..." it's an obscure album (not in a "gothic" way, you know...) and I think he's right. And "The Kids" iy's just in the opposite direction.

TWM: "Drifting Along"...It's simple. I don't like reggae, and even though the lyrics of this song, which are great, I've never liked the melody.

S: "Where Do We Go From Here". It's not a bad song, but for me it's too long and tends to bore me.

AFO: "Stop Don't Panic"...Too dirty...it was like a prophecy of...

D: "Feels Just Like It Should"........I think I've listened no more than 10 times since the album appeared. I really don't like it.
