Yes, about the rocky-sound. The band is obviously having new sounds & influences and I personally am glad that it is more like warm rock-funk sound than electro-disco. _________________ kite carrier (geuze)

Lyrics to "Black Devil Car" sample
Hello again, :bm_r:
I can help you out Butterfly, with helping you out with the lyrics to the "Black Devil Car" clip ! Here's a cut & paste of the lyrics I put down in my first post in this topic, hope they help you out Butterfly:
" You should've seen her, uh she had the greenest eyes, and with those little thighs, I put my hands through...some misdemeanors. Can't you see now that I'm not choosy, you drive a black machine that I think that your groovy, uh let me take a little ride with you. Baby yeah, driving around...in my Black Devil Car! "
There you go, I was thinking of posting a new topic with these lyrics, but I'll probably do it when a full version of it surfaces ! Peace and thanks for listening !
Sincerely,

Hello Jamirotalkers,
Geuze, I agree with you about the funk-rock instead of electro-disco, but wouldn't be great disco-funk? I think it is pretty clear that we want more jazzy and funky melodies, or at least that is what I am waiting for since Synkronized didn't have the sound of the first records. But I don't want to speak about something we don't know yet! I mean come on, those were only 28 seconds! The rest of the album will amaze. I have a feeling.
I think one of the things JMQ doesn't need is the fans feeling worried about the new direction of the album. I know, is true that some of us are a little bit scared after hearing that rocky piece of song Black Devil Car/ Wife whatever. But I think deep in my heart, they have something sooo much better to show in this album. Don't feel disapointed or I will be feeling like that too.

oops... thank you Jamirofan - ok - the sound of my computer isn't that good....
I'm also glad about this rocky funkin sound - instead of disco. But as Diego said we cannot judge the whole album because of these 30 seconds - let's just wait and see!!!
I'm sooooo curious ..... |

No video has been filmed yet...
Hello again, :bm_r:
Rach, I'm sorry to point out, but, there hasn't been a video shoot for any new Jamiroquai song since mid 2002 . I think the video your friend saw was for either the "AFO" single "Love Foolosophy", where JK is driving in a black Bentley with Heidi Klum and some doggies OR the "TWOM" video for "Cosmic Girl" where the different bandmembers take turns driving JK's fleet of exotic cars. I hope that clears it up , as for what JK's new hat will look like, I'm hoping for a reinvention of the original fake animal fur mushroom JK hat that looked like this:
I would love to see a new hat with the old vibes and loads of mexican beads on it, I know JK has got to have those old hats hanging in his closet ! Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,

There is a difference. Bentleys love the roads, and Ferraris EAT the roads, HAHAHA!
Long live the prancing horse. _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. It really does. Otherwise, I have to be honest, I can see a situation where...there is a possibility that you become lost in the annals of acid jazz history." -- Jason Kay |

That sample sounds great. If the rest of the album is of the same standard (but with varying styles ofcourse) then it will be amazing. I really hope Jamiroquai balance the different styles well. I'd hate to see the same sound throughout the album.

Ola
I have to give my opinion about this song
Well , i don't know at to say about this song really
I was waiting for different type of sound (not Synk/Afo sound) , but maybe from that early sound (EOPE/ROTSC).
If the Shoot the moon is on the album , i hope more songs in that style ,and for one instrumental one. _________________ hooked up |

I'm totally blown away... I was expecting to be slightly disappointed to be honest, and it has far exceeded my expectations... The lyrics are fun and those keyboards are so funky! And I think the rock works well with this sound. And it doesn't hit you over the head with it, it just drives the momentum of the music.
I've listened to this countless times now, and now I am very impatient for the release of the album. I have a feeling that my friends will love this song!
It's certainly a new sound, but the keyboards totally remind me of an old sound. It sounds so different from anything else they've done to me, and I'm ecstatic. |

I just listened to BDC again and again and then i remembered that on the video, you can hear some more if you're listening carefully. Right before the 'sample' starts, there's one or more sentences and at the end (when the dog's barking) you can hear (i think it is) the ending. I must admit that that last part has made me more and more positive! |
