I have finally uploaded some videos from my boys playing drums and bongos at myvideo.de - it's similar to youtube but at youtube I had problems with the synchronicity of audio and video... it always looked like a fake because the moves didn't fit to the sounds.

Anyways, here are the links to watch the new generation of drummers online... tataaaah!!

http://www.myvideo.de/watch/759118

http://www.myvideo.de/watch/775409

http://www.myvideo.de/watch/759530

http://www.myvideo.de/watch/775503

By the way, those videos were taken spontaneously - these are not patterns that Marlin has learned anywhere. The rhythm he is playing there developed while I recorded and it never happend like this afterwards. It's his onw improviastion and when I ask him today, hey play again what you did the other day - he can't, it will sound different then - but still good!! Very Happy

Enjoy!! good

Hehe.. yes, I've told Marlin he should try not to focus on the cam all the time and just ignore me - because then he plays better. When he is concentrating on the cam then he plays inexact, loses the beat and plays a bit reserved. He plays best when nobody is around him. I will try to install a hidden camera one day... Twisted Evil

Mika says one word in that video at the end: "Fertig!" ... which means: "Ready!" ... he was confused because I didn't stop recording after he finished... LOL

My son Marlin (7 years) has recently recorded a track with his teacher. With headphones on, a little mixing desk - 7headphones 7microphone 7drums 7cd ... it had a touch of professionalism! Laughing

Here is the result:

(with instruments/play-along)
http://rapidshare.com/files/46282928/MARLIN_-PlayAlong128-_18.07.07.mp3.html

(only drums)
http://rapidshare.com/files/46283354/MARLIN_-PlayAlong128-_18.07.07_nurDrum.mp3.html

The "music" is not really mind-blowing, it's just a play-along they use for practising, but I think he really plays accurate. And he had fun, making the recording! Wink

Shocked Gee, the kid can play! I love it how he stays almost perfectly in time! I also watched the videos above (I hadn't seen the thread before), and that's amazing! He has a great tempo even if he was distracted by the camera. Wouldn't he by any chance be interested in joining my band? I'll go back to bass just to have him around! Laughing

Great play-along, congratulations Marlin! 7drums

The (missing) lyrics of this song are very sad...

I have two new videos of Marlin from today when he was practicing on his drums. Have mercy about the song.. it's Tokio Hotel - Monsun... that's the song his teacher gave him last time because he has a play-along for it. Rolling Eyes ... The version without voices isn't that bad. Wink

So.. don't concentrate on the song but on Marlin's playing, please! Wink

Oh, forgot to say that both videos are incomplete... both times Marlin's little brother Mika confused him, so he stopped after a while. We did a perfect recording after that, but the file was damaged and couldn't be downloaded for some reason... 2melting ... well, next time!

Enjoy!! Any comments are welcome! good
