If you're talking with someone who doesn't believe in God the last thing you wanna do is refer to the Bible. If the person don't believe in God, how do you expect him to believe in what the Bible says?
For the ppl who doesnt believe in God, like me and many others, the Bible doesnt makes sense. You need to argue with something that doesn't require faith to agree it's true. |

hi there,
firstly i think this album is gonna cause a wee bit of religious friction but it wouldn't be Jay Kay if it wasn't controversial.
& im pretty sure horns & strings will be on the new album although after these first 2 tracks im beginning to wonder _________________

Hi Javis, I get where you are coming from, but I DO believe in the bible, so it would be remiss of me to use any other source of opinion or wisdom. I believe the bible is the truth, therefore I use it.

Yeah I'm pretty sure too!! I read that James Russell (who played tenor saxophone & flute) during this summer tour has contributed to the new album so.. I'm confident _________________

because i am still off from work & bored out of my wits, i took the liberty of getting the subtitles from the Later with Jools Holland performance & this is what they had.
==========================================
Lyrics
Baby, Rock Dust Light Star
And it's coming at you baby yeah yeah
Coming at you baby
I'm a man on the moon
I hope I don't come back too soon
Am I the only one to see the light
No use in getting down
Upon your knees tonight
So don't feel love
Because I got no faith
I've seen those twisted lies
Thrown back into my face
I've heard the crazy touchings
Of the human race
I Must be alone
How could it be
Your gift to me
A several heavy artillery
(Baby you know)
There's nothing about your war
You can call it what you like
I know where I'm from
And it's cold and dark
Coz all the sinners
Are just saints without the sparks
I'm having trouble
Telling them apart
Oh yeah
Coming at you,
Rock Dust Light Star
Coming at you baby,
36,000 miles an hour
Rock Dust Light Star
Coming at you baby
What you're made of
What you are
Now look and see
Those stars for you and me
Waiting like silent killers in the mind
Atomic agents
You can never fight
(Can never fight)
I never felt
I've ever prayed
I don't have to join in
With the other slaves
I'm not the only one
Who feels betrayed
Oh yeah
See, the more I think about it
I'm born against the grain
I won't be born again
Salvation's coming from on high
Coming at you baby
Through the sky
From on high yeah
Rock Dust Light Star
Coming at you baby,
36,000 miles an hour
Rock Dust Light Star,
Coming at you baby,
What you're made of
What you are
Rock Dust Light Star
Coming at you baby
36,000 miles an hour
Rock Dust Light Star,
Coming at you baby,
What you're made of
What you are
Rock Dust Light Star
Rock Dust Light Star
I'm square peg
In a round hole
Maybe there's no place left for my wounded soul
Maybe the King of Kings
Finally lost control of it
Coming at you baby
Rock Dust Light Star
Coming at you baby,
36,000 miles an hour
Rock Dust Light Star,
Coming at you baby,
What you're made of
What you are
Rock Dust Light Star
Coming at you baby
36,000 miles an hour
Rock Dust Light Star,
Coming at you baby,
What you're made of
What you are
Salvation's coming
Salvation's coming
Rock Dust Light Star
Coming at you baby,
36,000 miles an hour
Rock Dust Light Star,
Coming at you baby,
What you're made of
What you are
Rock Dust Light Star
Coming at you baby
36,000 miles an hour
Rock Dust Light Star,
Coming at you baby,
What you're made of
What you are
Rock Dust Light Star
Coming at you baby
36,000 miles an hour

Any sign of any vinyl this time round? This would be their first album to not get an LP if not |

It seems the Beeb were wrong with a couple of words in their transcription there (the "touchings" and "artillery" lines are clearly wrong), although killers in the night (rather than candles) is def. what it sounds like on Jools.
So far I think I've heard atomic agents, atomic majors and now on Jools, atomic legions being sung for that line. All kinda similar, interchangeable words. Maybe Jay's playing around with what word feels/sounds right when it's done live?
Of course, there's always the possibility my ears are broken and I don't have a clue what I'm talking about. Never rule out that possibility! _________________

Yeah candles sounds better!
You know, I think this song may be just the best one so far. But I was just thinking about the religion controversy and I guess you guys covered that. He's not really criticizing other religions, (if that were the case they'd be slaughtered by different avenues of press.
(Lord hope that doesn't happen)
But it's sorta beyond the human society and more universal. (As is his space theme).
We're too far gone for prayer -is the message I get.
But I always found the drugs in his music pretty profound and controversial too (on TWM).
Just this week someone sent me 'You mama's on crack rock' by The Dogs! 1991 on FB! OMG! |
