Record labels will never learn. Regional releases are a thing of the past. And these so-called "smart" record executives wonder why they lose money due to piracy. |

Exactly. It makes no sense to release a CD only in certain countries.Jamiroquai has fans all over the globe. |

Does anyone think that they might release an entire different album for the US market? I know that bands always record way more songs than actually go on the album, but I hear that they recorded close to 40 songs. Most of the track on RDLS are amazing IMO, but not anything most of the current American public will get into. Do you think that there is any possibility that Universal/Mercury will retool the album and pull some of those other songs for the late US release? |

That would be awesome.I live in the US and my import copy arrived a few days ago.I love the album just the way it is,but I would be thrilled if we got some additional tracks and maybe a bonus DVD. |

Hello again,
I'm also in the 'delayed waiting boat', Brother Zeio, I was expecting my Japanese Deluxe this week to arrive but it's been delayed till sometime next week . As for what I think the American RDLS release will materialize as, most definitely they will release two versions, regular run-of-the-mill RETAIL and Deluxe edition (Probably with all 4 bonus tracks INCLUDING 'Not The Funk') , remember, I'm just guessing, but we are due all of that goodness at the smallest least . Cheers and patience my American Bros & Sises of the Jamily, the release date is soon coming, I would also venture a guess of maybe Feb. 2011 at the earliest.
Sincerely,

Hello again,
Got some promising U.S. Import news to lay on all of y'all . It appears that Best Buy IS taking orders for both the Import retail & UK Deluxe edition releases of RDLS on their site now, no instore orders mind you, only for delivery from their site, but hey, FREE SHIPPING , here are the links to both new sales listings at Bestbuy.com, and the prices aren't half bad too :
- Rock Dust Light Star (Retail Import):
http://tinyurl.com/35bvjo6
- Rock Dust Light Star (Deluxe Edition Import):
http://tinyurl.com/34x2qjd
As for my 'continuing wait' for my Deluxe Edition, alas, still no go after all this time, apparently on 'extreme backorder' for right now, so the earliest I could FINALLY get it is sometime in December...ugh... . Cheers and hope this info helps!
Sincerely,

I don't get why you have to wait for a local distributor to get an import version for you. Why don't you just order the thing online??? _________________

Mainly because I don't have a checking account/credit card access due to 'debt issues', so I am negated from ordering online cause you need at least both of those to order, I might just cancel my local record store order, get my money back and just order it 'instore' at my local Best Buy .
Sincerely,

JamFan -it's okay! You don't have to explain -we all have reasons for why we do things!
(But shopping with a credit card is a lot easier!)
I have received the regular cd here in the U.S. -via Amazon.uk. But the Deluxe Version was ordered sometime around mid-October from an Australian site and has yet to arrive.
(I'm envisioning a UPS swimmer).
I think RDLS will only be available in the stores come 2011. But as for a different version, I think only a different bonus song from the Japanese one- like Angeline. Also I'm kinda hoping the cover picture is a Buffaloman. Although not sure I'll buy a 3rd cd for myself, maybe a gift! |

I agree HoneyBee. I really don't like that cover. He looks a bit freakish., might scare the Americans who haven't seen them in a while. _________________
