Yes, yes I do! (By the way, I did buy AFO last night). And thanks.
I do have a fairly good collection of "unofficial" live releases (around 5000 hours), although I'm not sure how much my tastes will jive with lots of other people here. I'm a hippie rock & roller at heart...but I've always had a bit of a thing for the dance- especially when it's funky, you know...

because the songs from this album introduce me to the band
is a very good reason to me, because if i haven't hear them, i wouldn't become a fan

I remember when TWM first came out that I thought it was a little bit too slickly-produced, or a little bit too commercially-oriented, or something like that. I ended up selling it used somewhere a short time later. (What can I say? I was on drugs back then),
Upon re-hearing it, and all things Jamiroquai that have come along since, over the past month or so, of course, it's a classic; an essential entry in their catalogue.
I think Dynamite is the best JMQ album since TWM, but it's completely apples to oranges, of course.
Oh, and ROTSC is still tops, as far as I'm concerned. The musicianship was NEVER better than on that album. Derrick and Stuart are one of the best rhythm sections I've ever heard, or will ever hear. Bloody outstanding!!

Jay should see the results .. The albums which define 90% of the band´s line up over the last decade get 4%, 7%, 9% of the preferences, and his most hated album is the winner with 33%. |

Jamiroquai has the quality to evoluate. Nowadays, it's difficuclt to say where is the essence of the band.
We will perhaps never now but Symphonized could be the best Jamiroquai album.

To answering the question I should say that The Return Of The Space Cowboy and Synkronized are two sides of the band
I fell in love with Space Cowboy, Just Another Story, Stillness in Time and...Soul Education Planet Home and Butterfly!
Ex aequo for me!

The Return Of The Space Cowboy for me is their best album.
But both TROTSC and TWM were also their creative peak in my opinion, maybe that's why. (curiously, two albums were the band had more input than the later work).

What I don't get, is the fact that TROTSC is Jay's least favourite album.
For me it's the best album, not only for Jamiroquai albums!!!
Especially its concept as a whole, a cohesion you can't find on any other Jamiroquai albums, although EOPE and TVM are also very strong in that sector.
Maybe I think it's so good, because it has been written and produced in only 2 months, so it contains a lot of spontaneous elements! It doesn't sound overworked, the way music should sound!
Here my current Jamiroquai album charts:

5. AFO

327. Dynamite...
Why Dynamite so low?
First of all the amount of, excuse me the word, crappy songs like "Loveblind", "World that he wants" and "Electric Mistress".
And second the lack of a cohesion on the album we were used by Jamiroquai until AFO!
Let's hope the new album won't be such a disaster!

Concerning AFO, the test pressing version (see it through YouTube) is really better than the Sony version.
I really find the weakness of Dynamite (except Time Won't Wait) when I heard Runaway and especially Radio: this last track is better than the whole Dynamite album!

After listening a bit to the AFO test pressing, I can say that AFO could have overtaken TROTSC in terms of general cohesion of the album!

I wish one day Sony will released
2001: A funk odyssey. A true concept album with nice full lenght versions of
Feel so good (I love the break) and You give me something (lI love the percussion and especially the bass at the end of the tune)
I agree, maybe never a jamiroquai album reaches this point of cohesion!
What a f....... pity!
