Goapele (beautiful soul..sounds like Sade and she is absolutely gorgeous) comes out at the end of this year, or maybe the beginning of next year, not sure. You can listen to some stuff off her new album at http://www.giantstep.net/releases/901/ and find out more about her. Goapele's first album is amazing.:
That's all I can think of right now |
i JUST got back from this concert. she appeared with floetry. amazing...
i was mad that i didn't bring a camera, because she did autographs, etc. after her set. she is just beautiful (this picture does her no justice) and her voice is very sultry, very amel via groove theory. goapele isn't very, very popular here. kind of a mini-step under jamiroquai. floetry were pretty hot too. i love their spoken word, but sometimes it went on a bit too much. they both have lost so much weight and look and sound great. their band is really talented.
anyone..yes, goapele's album...i ended up doing a review for this album and couldn't wait to see her live. all i have left on my 'never seen' live list for this year now is new edition and jamie liddell (who i will see this thursday ).
alright, i'm so tired..had a great time tonight..concert mania!! _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com

The Swiss gig thread motivated me to post this...
Morcheeba/Skye fans...Incase you don't know Skye of Morcheeba has a new album out. It was released here mid-July.
To find out more about Skye's new release, check here: http://www.giantstep.net/artists/779
You can download a free, legal MP3 of Skye's single, "What's Wrong With Me" (Nouvelle Vague Remix) here: http://www.giantstep.net/features/56/
You will also find a free, legal download of Morcheeba - Everybody Loves A Loser (Cassettes Won't Listen Remix) at that address.
I am indifferent about Morcheeba and Skye, but figure some of you might enjoy this.

Yes, me too! I loved the first album (especially Brand New Jones, Alright and Get You Alone). Something is going on with the release like it got pushed back or something..well, that's what I heard!
The people over at Okayplayer love him, so I go there for Thicke news. _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

I only just read all the way through this thread. No-one's mentioned the new Outkast album yet, which came out, I believe, today (in the UK, at any rate). Anyone heard it? Any good? 'The Love Below' was just fantastic, but I've not heard any of 'Idlewild' yet...

well..there's chatter everywhere about it, but me - i'm not a major outkast fan. i think big boi is a good MC, they have okay production and andre3000 can hold his own, but he rides the gimmick and shock train too much for me. i wouldn't have a problem with that if i didn't think it was more for show than individuality.
they are a pretty good group, but i think the last album that i got is AQUEMINI. i'm just not feeling them anymore, but if you go to
www.okayplayer.com/boards and then click on the lesson..you will see a BIGGGGGGGGG post.
it seems to be both negative/positive. _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

I look forward in hearing the new Jamiroquai tunes, especially Runaway. Since Radio is supposed to be a "rocky" tune I'm not as interested in that one. But I do wanna hear it.
Other than that I'm most definitely looking forward to the new 4hero album... something I've been waiting for for a very long time. What I heard on Gilles Peterson's radio show was VERY promising. Oh those lush strings gives me the shivers. |

Hi
I'm actually quite impressed with the Red Hot Chili Peppers album, very good. And I enjoy the first 2 videos. Accurate type of video clips.

INCOGNITO NEW ALBUM!!
I know there are quite of Incognito fans on here, so maybe you already knew this, but they have a new album coming out already (Eleven was just released a few months ago here)! I'm sure there is more information about it somewhere, but here is a quick write up about it from the official website - pay attention to the BOLD:
Brand new album from Incognito - "Bees + Things + Flowers"
It features new arrangements of four Incognito classics – Always There, Still A Friend Of Mine, Everyday and Deep Waters – and covers of such great tunes as Roy Ayers' "Everybody Loves The Sunshine", Earth Wind & Fire's "That's The Way Of The World", "Summer In The City" and a stunning remake of America's "Tin Man". There are also three brand new Bluey compositions. Six tracks feature a 16-piece string section and the line-up of lead vocalists on this radio-friendly album is the strongest ever assembled for an Incognito album – CARLEEN ANDERSON, JOCELYN BROWN, MAYSA, JOY ROSE, IMAANI and TONY MOMRELLE.
Released October 2, 2006 (Don't know if that date is international or not)
Grooveline played some cuts from it I believe last week on their internet radio show.
