You know, I think this song may be just the best one so far. But I was just thinking about the religion controversy and I guess you guys covered that. He's not really criticizing other religions, (if that were the case they'd be slaughtered by different avenues of press.
(Lord hope that doesn't happen)
But it's sorta beyond the human society and more universal. (As is his space theme).
We're too far gone for prayer -is the message I get.
But I always found the drugs in his music pretty profound and controversial too (on TWM).
Just this week someone sent me 'You mama's on crack rock' by The Dogs! 1991 on FB! OMG! |
I thought the meaning of this song was that all this fighting, arguing and preaching about religion in our world hasn't got much use.
If a "rock dust light star" falls on the earth, we'll all be dead in a few seconds. So what's the use of our important religion then?
I thought this was the message said by jay in an interview.
Kinda basic I know |

Yeah, sorta that religion is not really important at this point. We're too far gone.
And in reality, there's a kinda cynical perspective that all societies will have war and fighting regardless of celebration of religion. |

Haha, you know what...?
In the lyrics of the booklet it clearly says:
I'm a square pig in a round hole!
and not "peg"
The other day I was joking around, and was telling that I understood "pig" instead of "peg".. now, I WAS RIGHT!!!

Remember nine years ago (as time goes by!!) on the Main Vein lyrics:
"I'm flying higher than a pig in space! "
It's maybe a wink _________________ "People find it's hard to be strong, cos' they don't know where they're coming from" |

That's so funny! I was thinking of that just yesterday, listening to Main Vein again after sooo many years.
And by the way, I realized what a great tune Main Vein is: one of the top 3 on that album, which all in all is pretty weak. Lots of creativity put into that track, including that line |

This must be a typo or a mishearing by whoever was responsible for the booklet lyrics. Because what's a "square pig"? doesn't make any sense, does it? |
