Exactly! WKR is growing on me... Same happened to me with Dynamite (the song). Very curious about the album. The brass section is promising aswell. And I'm sure we'll all love the so called 'jazz song'... |

You wanna hear something crazy? For the longest time, I felt that the term "Smoke and Mirrors" would make for a PERFECT Jamiroquai song. I totally pictured Jay writing a song with this title for a number of reasons: The connotations described above, as well as the obvious drug allusions/illusions, a subject in which he is certainly well-versed. (Cue the "Twilight Zone" music. ) The guy has certainly seen a LOT of smoke AND mirrors, in more ways than one!
I think it's so weird and so incredibly cool that this actually came to fruition. I can't wait to hear it! _________________ ~~~"To perchance upon this circumstance is something of a miracle so spiritual, it's verging on the physical."~~~ |

I think we all should be careful with our expectations about Smoke & Mirrors. I mean, we have been in this situation a few times, and some people ended disappointed.
Of course I'm excited about the album (I won't lie, the comments about this song made me very happy), but I'm not waiting for a "return to 1994".
but, hey! that wont make this album bad, not at all!.
All I'm trying to explain is that we will have the new album in our hands in a few months, and I fear we'll have a bunch of angry people about to cut open their veins with the booklet pages because "Smoke and Mirrors" doesn't sound like Space Cowboy ! |

Jamiroquai's back on track
BY DEAN PIPER ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2010 11:18 PM
Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay has been a wee bit quiet of late. But all that's about to change.
I watched the star perform five new tracks from the band's brand new album Rock Dust Light Star this week. And I have to say it's a return to form.
Jay told me afterwards that he's spent as much time as possible on this record - four YEARS in fact! "It's really for the fans. I was conscious of making a new record but with our classic sound."
Being the former playboy that he is, we had to talk ladies too. He said: "I may be 40 now and I sometimes feel that age - but my body is still young and ready to go. I'm technically single."
He also spoke out about his former love Denise Van Outen. "I really wish her all the best with her little girl," he gushed. "I'm so pleased for her and she seems happy. I haven't seen her for ages." |

Who knows, maybe we will get some classic-sounding songs on the album after all. I mean we have only heard 3 songs so far, right? Keeps going back and forth now. I'm hearing it's gonna have an overall rock feel but then I hear it will be classic sounding.... _________________ If it ain't no natural law, then you can keep your regulations. I don't know why people are so afraid.
I mean... genres are so... not-specific, and specially with Jamiroquai. Who can clasify one of the 6 albums with one word?? Impossible. If there's something they have in their catalogue, is diversity. They are good at that. |

EXACTLY! This is why I am baffled by a lot of the negative responses to Blue Skies in particular. While I respect everyone's personal opinion, I have been left surprised at the reaction to this tune... _________________ 'This is the world he wants, pray for the brave and the young...' |
