im sorry for the solid acid jazz fans  ...but dynamite was up there with twm on my list ha ! i liked how different it was from his older stuff. |

lol....im not serious....  ...i love all the albums from eope to dyna ....im just sorry for the acid jazz loving peeps who can't see past 19nintey something  ..they are loveblind...I understand where u coming from ..some of u guys want to hear the horns and scatting...i like that too..but i a little divergence didn't hurt  ...maybe it'll happen last ablum? |

Well.. yeah, actually 'Dynamite' for me is the second or maybe the third album I like the most. I like every single song on it, and I got used of them quickly.
But definetely I want them to go back to the 93/94 era.

Jay and Jamiroquai have fulfilled their duties towards Sony and made them happy. A Best Of (perhaps with some unreleased material) to make the Sony people pleased and then it's buh-bye.
When the deal is over it's time for Jay and the boys to be happy again. AND for us to be happy. I predict a step back to the old skool Jamiroquai. But I also suspect elements of the new Jamiroquai will remain. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Just give us a groovy mix of funk, jazz, disco, soul and latin mix with horns, flute, strings, digeridoo, turntables and background singers and all the lesser material released is forgiven! |

Probably. I know Jamiroquai's old school kind of music have more quality. It's a very good acid jazz rhythm and loads of instrumental moments. However, I also like their new style. Well, I'm not talking about FJLIS, which is too strange to be a single. I'm talking about Little L, Love fool or main vein.
I think a mixture between initial acid jazz and funky dance songs should be the way to follow in new albums, a global personality of Jamiroquai. |

Yeah.. well... I'm ok with their new style, powerful disco/ funk. But is not "new" actually, they've already tried that even in their first album, with 'Blow Your Mind', which is the most disco song in that album I believe.
Is not that they changed TOO much from their original sound. Is just that they keep adding new elements... listen to 'Love Blind'... is very different from what we've heard, but still in the chorus you listen something classic from Jamiroquai. And even the DJ scratches are not new... 'Destitute Illusion' come on!
They tried perfectly to keep fans happy, and still to add new stuff for them to play. It's a nice balance. And it's not easy.

Obvioulsy, jamiroquai is always directed by jay, so evidently their kind of music have always a relatively common sound. But I desagree with Diego . I don't think Blow your mind must be known as a disco song. My point of view is that, undestanding jamiroquai as a global and common sound, they have really changed their kind of music.
Initially, funky-acid jazz. Nowadays, more funky-disco. They have moved as far as they could, keep on living in the funk music world. Sorry, I can't explain it better in english  . In order to understand this change (evolution or regression, it0s subjective), I think Jay's changes are symbolics. Rich youth, new clothes and new kind of fabulous life reflex, in mi opinion, this change.  |
