A release date for Kool & Gang Cover album Feat. Jam!!!!
 Hello, :bm_r:
Just read some encouraging news on Frenchiroquai about the long forgotten Kool & The Gang cover album! According to many Japanese outlets, The Kool & the Gang cover album titled "Odyssey", featuring Jamiroquai, if you don't remember, doing their cover of "Hollywood Swinging", is set for release in Japan only is April 21st 2004. No details on whether there will be a stateside or UK release in the cards for later on, but you know I will keep you all updated if I hear otherwise  . Oh, man I hope their studio version of "HS" is as good as their past live renditions (Finsley Park 97' rendition my favorite!)! I'm assuming there will be a studio recording of Hollywood Swingin'??? That would be absolutely INCREDIBLE! I can't wait, and April is now.  |

Yep, I'm 100% sure that the Jamiroquai cover of "Hollywood Swinging" on the upcoming Kool & Gang's "Odyssey" is a studio recording. I just hope some fan is able to import the album, it's only coming out in Japan for now, then share the Jami track online, that would tide me over till it's released domestically here in the States and the UK. I can't imagine that they wouldn't release it over here. After all, Kool & The Gang was an American band, with a big following. I expect a lot of Kool fans would buy it, not just Jam fans, which, although they are many, are spread somewhat thin around the world.
Let's hope so anyway... |
