New Bassist: Alex Meadows
Well, it isn't officially confirmed yet, but it appears that we now have the correct name of the new boy in the band:
Alex Meadows
You can find his name for example on an album called "The
Light Insight" from Colin Blunstone together with Rob Harris (!!!) on guitar.
David Rowe even noticed that also Beverley Knight's drummer, Carlos Hercules, was a member of the same group.
Hehe, one big family!
He was also a member of an american groupe called Electrasy.
So, that's all I know by now.
More to come...

Congrats Sherlock-Mouse-Holmes
Now all we need is a photo. I think it's a good sign that he already played with Rob... So let's wait and see |

And a bit more info about Electrasy:
| Quote: |
Electrasy are one of those bands where you can't understand how they've managed to remain relatively unknown despite being better than most. We probably wouldn't have even heard about them if it hadn't been for the inclusion of the track Cosmic Castaway on the recent animated film Titan A.E.
This British band aren't one track wonders though and if you've been fortunate enough to download of buy one of their albums you'll have been treated to the likes of the superb Morning Afterglow rock ballad or the electric styling of Renegades. The band like to use a variety of styles and do it to great effect.
To date the bands highest UK chart success was with the track Morning Afterglow which peaked in the UK chart at the number 19.

I remember to heard cosmic castaway years ago. I'm confused because the past bands I know of this bassist don't sound like the happy-funky of jamiroquai, I hope the sound of Jamiroquai don't take a new evolution.
I think Jay is intelligent to choose the correct musician, he never will to take a bad interpret.
Good vibes! |

meadows
In my fever to hear some new Jamiroquai, I took to researching Alex Meadows. Turns out Simon Hale, who did the string arrangements on TWM and Synk (maybe AFO too, can't remember), also arranged for Alex's old band Electrasy!

I hate to hate on Electrasy, but they sound like a bunk rip-off of the Kottonmouth Kings with a little mix of Smashmouth involved (I think the lead singer sounds a lot like the lead singer from Smashmouth).
Alex definately made an upgrade coming to Jamiroquai, but then again if Flea was Nick F.'s replacement he'd be making an upgrade too hehe. _________________ Wouldn't 'ya like... To walk the sunny avenues of life? |

Alex Meadows...nice new bassist
Hello,
I can't recall if I ever posted about Mr. Meadows, but from all indications I have seen, he is a perfect addition to Jamiroquai . I listen to some of "Electracy" stuff a few months ago, and yeah, I kind of agree with Jaminneapolis's sentiments on them. But after the whole ruckus the 30 second clip of "Black Devil Car" and many hours spent listening to it and studying it in every sound, Alex is stellar on it. His basslines are TIGHT and can't wait to hear his contribution to the 6th Jam album ! Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 _________________

1. It's not official that Alex Meadows is the new bassist of Jamiroquai. Fact is that a few bassist were involved in the recordings. Alex Meadows is one of them. The last information we got from Sola is, that they are still searching for the one who is going to tour with them (or they haven't yet decided).
2. Edgar, you have posted a pic of Dirk Lance aka Alex Katunich from Incubus. It's not Alex Meadows.
3. From that little snippet BDC I cannot judge if Alex is good or not.

i want to see the new bassist, maybe a mixture between Stu and Nick... the quality of Stu, and the dancings of Nick.... hehehehe what's that? the dream bass player?? NOOO, that would be perfectly Verdine White from EW and F. HEEEHEHEHEHEHEHEH _________________ This is FunkEducation, supporting the 1992-1998 Jamiroquai!!
