Ha ha ha, no bro, just the only good places near my home that have modest to good wi fi for uploading is my local Starbucks/McDonalds restaurant, home wi fi is still too damn expensive here in the States. _________________

Props on the great info, but to be honest it's pretty sad to see them performing at a wedding reception. How the mighty have fallen. |
They really haven't fallen anywhere, if there are good paying gigs near them, then they all the right to take advantage of those opportunities. It will be interesting to see if they signed a new album deal with a new record label given the likelihood of the original Alps gig being for record label execs is pretty high, but hey, we all fall prey to our own speculaton, especially online. _________________

I also thought that this secret gig was something like the debut London one. Playing on a wedding seems like a huge drop, but we don't know the circumstances, maybe friends of jay or other member, there are possibly million reasons for this gig. |

Not if the money was good, that's what musicians do, they go and play where the money is, but granted we're not privy to who/whom was friends/acquainted with members of Jamiroquai when booking this gig. _________________

I've got one question : about Synkronized you said that it is the "drug album". I thought it was A funk odyssey because in 1999 in spite of few problems (in particularly The cancelled Symphonized album due to Stuart's departure) Jay seemed
happy with Denise Van Houten at that time. Was he out of control in this period like 1994 and 2001-2004 ?
Thanks for the answer ! _________________ "People find it's hard to be strong, cos' they don't know where they're coming from" |

It was a 'carryover' from Syn-To-AFO, the excesses in the band, especially with JK was starting to make awareness during the writing stages of Syn, then became an issue during AFO, I remember reading a bandmember interview with anecdotal comments about this period. The biggest out of control period for JK was as he said in his interview from the High Times DVD interviews, in the middle of the AFO composition/recording of 2000-2002. _________________
