New album: Automaton
The other thread was 50 pages long and has been there for many, many years.
Now that we finally have some confirmation, is time for an upgrade (much like J's new headgear).
Still no official release date, but the new Twitter and Instagram accounts show some changes in the marketing department. March/April sounds about right.
Today was the first official announcement that we've had in years.
Everything looks great so far. As always, I'll wait to listen the entire record before making any assumptions.
Official information and discussion about the new album/single/artwork/videos from this point forward! |

Sola retweeted this:
"Kimberly Crawley @kim_crawley
I ❤️ Rock Dust Light Star. But, the choice of singles was poor. I hope #Automaton is promoted better. #Jamiroquai @PaulTurnerBass @solasco"
I wonder if he did it because he agrees? Anyway, interesting RT. |

So, the new video for Automaton appears to be directed by Charlie Lightening.
Interestingly, he has worked for them before:
http://www.lighteningproductions.com/
In his page, you can see that he made a small promo similar to Little L for RDLS, the music video for Lifeline, and a live version video of RDLS (which I haven't seen before). It's all on HD also, which is quite an achievement for old JMQ videos!
In his Instagram account, he also alluded to the fact that he was also involved in the artwork for the new album. |

I do wonder if the record company leak/reveal this information intentionally or not. It all looks like the band are trying really well with building release hype up at the moment. It's working.
It must just be frustrating when the likes of amazon get ahead of the game and reveal this information. Or maybe they don't care - it's only us 'hardcore' fans who look for and get excited about tracklists etc. We're all pretty much going to buy the album already so it doesn't really matter what we know? |

I think nobody really cares about titles except for the ones that want to know every little detail about the album. |

The titles don't sound great - "Dr Buzz"? "Hot Property"? Sounds like tracks from a bad disco compilation. It's always a shame when someone who was as talented lyrically as JK was on the first album to fall back on generic "we can do it" type lyrics. I'm only making a guess here, of course, but I'm doubting a track called "Superfresh" is going to have a lot to say. |

Right, because the previous albums didn't have non-serious titles.
"Mr Moon", "Whatever It Is I Just Can't Stop", "Hooked Up", "Cosmic Girl", "Little L", "Love FOOLOSOPHY"...
Come on... |
