Article about Jay & driving and the former -word
Funkin site informed about this article about (surprise surprise!) Jay's driving habits.. I was just wondering why this is not the first article somewhere where they describe Jay as "the former lead singer of Jamiroquai".. former.. do they have some kind of an assumption that the band doesn't exist anymore. I've seen that former word in at least two earlier articles too.. the press is stupid (and I'm studying media&communication )
Here's the link if you didn't already catch it from the Funkin...

Good lord, he seems very reckless indeed.
He's only 34, by the way... |

Sometimes I can't believe how the press can be. How can they say 'former lead singer'... is an insult for us!!!
Hahahaa....I thought it was only here. |

100mph at the age of NINE!?!?!
I once had a similar experience as to Jay reading the paper in the back seat. I was in the car with my grandpa when I was about 5. He wanted to read the road map and had to fumble around to find his glasses so he told me to hold onto the wheel and steer and tell me if the light turned red.
Mind you...he seems to 'claim' that stop signs don't exist and drives right through them. |

Yeah right!
Hello, :bm_r:
Yeah, I remember that press hoopla from a while back, thanks for sharing that news and link Gueze . Though, I think the bit about JK talking about driving over 100 mph in a car at age 9 might be a little exaggerated. Sometimes spiel like that is said to incite a scared and weird reaction out of the press by JK, I guess it's his way of getting at the cutthroat press. I could imagine JK doing something similar to that when he was young, reminds of that little Asian kid in the movie "Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom" with the crates on his feet driving Indy's escape car speeding away from the nightclub...hahaha..! Thanks again for sharing that piece Gueze, thanks for listening and Peace! ;;)
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

FURY OVER JAY KAY MOTOR MADNESS Mar 31 2004
Jay Kay was blasted by road safety campaigners yesterday after boasting about his dangerous driving. The star, who has a multi-million pound fleet of cars, bragged of driving his mother's Mercedes at 100mph when he was just nine.Asked what was the maddest thing he'd done in a car he replied: "I once set the cruise control, asked the passenger to hold the wheel, then hopped in the back to read the newspaper."The 35-year-old - banned from driving three times for speeding - made his confessions in Autocar magazine.Jay Kay, who reckons the motorway speed limit should be 95mph, was slammed as "reckless".A spokesman for the Royal Society For The Prevention Of Accidents said: "His conduct is quite deplorable."He shows total disregard for his own safety, his passengers, and other road users. It's terrifying to think he is a role model for young drivers."
