AUTOMATON songs jamiroquai autoinfluenced
Put here a list of automaton album songs that remind you to another jamiroquai tune (and also non jamiroquai tunes). If you can put what parts and why (melody, rythm, feeling, chord progression, sound...)

SHAKE IT ON: Feel So Good - feel, harmony (in the same key!)
AUTOMATON: Everyone Is Going To The Moon (a mature return to this concept)
CLOUD 9: Massive Attack 'Paradise Circus' & Superman Lovers 'Starlight' (musical 'borrowing')
SUPERFRESH: <any disco track>
HOT PROPERTY: Snoop Dogg 'Let's Get Blown' (harmony in the chorus)
SOMETHING ABOUT YOU: The outro brings be happiness, just like Scam (outro) & Stillness In Time (outro)
SUMMER GIRL: Mr Moon - general feel
NIGHTS OUT IN THE JUNGLE: Wolf In Sheep's Clothing - strong bass, experimental!
DR. BUZZ: Thematically speaking, any social commentary track from 'Songs in the key of Life' from Mr Wonder
WE CAN DO IT: Driftin' Along / The Specials for its Two Tone style
VITAMIN: Do You Know Where You're Coming From (drum and bass)
CARLA: Little L & Emergency On Planet Earth (for harmonic progression - flattened bass note at the end of the cycle.. LOVE IT) |
