How do you rate the 5 Jamiroquai Studio albums???
Hello, :bm_b:
I know, I know :roll, with all the other variations of this topic that have been posted over the past two years here on JamiroTalk.net (Examples: Fav Jam album, Fav Jam single and so on), you might look at this topic with a blank stare . But, I'm interested in what everyone on JamiroTalk.net rate each Jamiroquai album. So how do you rate each Jamiroquai album, adopting the rating 1 to 5 Buffalomen, 1 being the lowest as "Looking for a new bassist" & 5 being the highest meaning "Bombade Buffalolicius"! To start it off, here are my ratings :
*JAMIROFAN2000'S JAMIROQUAI ALBUM RATINGS*
Emergency On Planet Earth - :bm_r:
Return of the Space Cowboy - :bm_r:
Travelling Without Moving - 1/2
Synkronized - 1/2
A Funk Odyssey - 1/2
There you go, I look forward to your ratings ! Peace and thanks for listening! Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 _________________

I have a different outlook on Jamiroquai then a lot of you that have beens fans since day 1. I was a guy who begun to listen to them during the Virtual Insanity craze. So I do like the older sound, but I seriously don't mind Synkronized and AFO. My beef with most of their albums is how they start out strong and lose steam towards the end of them. The two biggest culprits of this are TWM and AFO. First 5-6 songs on both are the best 5-6 on both albums.
Synknronized is pretty strong with the exception of supersonic. The video is allright, but I never cared for the song.
EOPE: 3.5
ROTSC: 4
TWM: 4.5
SYN: 4
AFO: 3.5
New Album: "Jamiroquai presents: Jay Kay" Hopefully 5 out of 5 _________________ Wouldn't 'ya like... To walk the sunny avenues of life? |

Regarding: albums losing steam towards the end.
I think AFO of all the albums keeps things pretty strong towards the end. I think the most creative work comes from Main Vein and Twenty Zero One--those are the only AFO tracks on which the band has really done something interesting with electronic beats. The first two tracks have always put me off because of the boring boom-chik-boom-chik of electrodrums. That said, I agree with you about Synkronized Jaminneapolis, I think it deserves more credit. The instrumental break on "Where do we go from here?" is so tight!
EOPE: 4
ROTSC: 4.5
TWM: 5
SYNK: 4
AFO: 3 (live versions much better though) _________________ i left my funk in san francisco

Votes are decreasing..it's the price to pay for the "pop-ization"... _________________ I once had a 10 years of Travelling Without Moving celebrations banner here... |

Hello Jamirotalkers,
After replying this topic, you should know that I don't consider any album as bad, worst or something, so putting one Buffalo Man means 'Good' for my rating (sorry, Jamirofan I had to create a new rating for me!) and five Buffalo's could mean 'Excellent/ Superb'. So, in conclusion, a 'regular' is less that one buffalo man and that one can't be used. Kay? Now that everything is cleared, here's my rating:
1: Good 2: Very Good 3: Great 4: Awesome 5: Excellent
+: Something particular
Emergency On Planet Earth:
The Return Of The Space Cowboy: 1/2 +
Travelling Without Moving:
Synkronized: 1/2+
A Funk Odyssey: 1/2 (like Tahoe said, live versions much better!)
There you go. Let me say it is difficult to put the ratings, cause it depends on my mood. BUT, EOPE will always be 5 stars/ buffalo's, I think it is the best debut album a band can make.
PS: I'll be back to this topic to put my rating to the untitled 6th album! I really hope I can use the five buffalos once again.
D! (diego)
