Everyday has What The Funk at the end?
hello again guys,
second question from me for today:
a beautiful song "Everyday" , which i love so much is an amazing track,
and the end sounds so fantastic!!! (when derrick
starts the beat with rim shot and toby plays rhodes tricks similar to
HANKOCK's ones from his
"Sun Touch" (from 1975' "man-child" LP which is toby's favourite Hankock's album)
but when i heard cool song "WHAT THE FUNK" (live, Montreux 95)
(on some bootlegs its called "WHO THE FUNK"), i understood this
song is Everyday's end theme..
so what maybe in the beginning there were 2 different tracks
and they decided to put them together in one - Everyday,
but for live gig they still played "WHAT THE FUNK" as a separate
song with words ?
Do you know anything about it?

Perhaps - this is only a guess, and I suppose there are plenty of other possibilities - they jammed from one into the other during the recording, and it wasn't edited out quite properly. Not all of the production on Jami's pre-AFO albums is spectacularly good, so it's a possibility. I'd have to listen to Everyday again to see what you mean, though - I haven't heard that song for AGES, and I can't do so right now. Interesting spot, though.

the beggining of the who the funk do you think you are is so close to the end of everyday, the keys are exactly the same and got quite the same vibe, good point high times! _________________

believe me it is so.
What The Funk and Everyday's end-theme are one and the same
track - they have the same chords loop, the same rhythm section groove
the only thing What The Funk is faster and has brass section arrangement. |
