The countdown begins...
Hello Jamirotalkers,
After all this time, we are finally in the 6th album's eve, and let me tell you I am more than excited, since I only had the feeling of a "new JMQ album" in 2001 with AFO, so I am really waiting to see the brand new covers, new songs and lyrics, hopefully a world tour that could bring the band here to SouthAmerica, the new stage, the new hat, the new bass played mr Mr Alex Meadows that be barely know, the new co-writing by Matt Johnson (that we could all hear on the last tour and I think is a great keyboard player that could give a beautiful touch to our funky soul Jamiroquai music we have all been waiting for), the new videos (that, as we spoke in other topics, could be better than the AFO ones, don't you think?-------go Michel Gondry go!!!!!---------), and most of all I want them to have the biggest success since they started, because I honestly think these guys deserve it, because they have been working hard, giving us that lost music from the 70's, and then they mixed with the actual sound which, I think, is something that no other artist made before with such enthusiasm, and if you are thinking about other bands, I bet you if there is one that had made something like JMQ, is an electronic artist or something made by pure computers. But Jamiroquai has proved that in the studio they can mix electronic perfectly (we like it or not), but they play all that live, and they sound amazing live.
Jay said he was better than ever (although with the license problems he might be having a little headache), they wrote the lyrics in Costa Rica (groovy sounds?), in Scotland, etc; they recorded in Chillington, in LA, in New York... I can say this album has something special, after all this work and preparation it had. 'Shoot The Moon' was perfect to me, 'Black Devil Car' (well, everyone left clear what we thought about it, hehe) and 'Cannabliss' had interesting lyrics but it was too "rocky" for me, but with more jazzy/funk/soul music orientated it could be a hell of a track.
Well, to sum up, those are my expectations for the 6th album (it is so close) and since the jamirotalk.net family became bigger this last months, with new users that had shown real interest in the band itself, I was wondering what do you jamirotalkers think? Will this album show the real Jamiroquai sound we have been waiting?... hehe, the countdown begins!!!...

I have to say, it seems like they've been working on this ever since they played "Canabliss" live in fall 2002. You're right J & crew have been putting a lot of care into the new work and I can't wait for some official news. I think Matt, Alex and Rob are going to make things sound fresh and new, without completely leaving the old J vibe.
You got to slow down
I can't keep up with you |

The fuse is lit...the car is on the grid...Hear that? The Buffalo Man is coming!
I'm really looking forward to this! _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. It really does. Otherwise, I have to be honest, I can see a situation where...there is a possibility that you become lost in the annals of acid jazz history." -- Jason Kay |

if you are starting the countdown already - without a release-date - i predict that at least one of you will get a heartattacke because of 'over-exitment' _________________ Dear Auntie Em. Hate you, hate Kansas, took the dog. Dorothy. x |

Mmm... perhaps you're right Bear, but it might be my age, I am still young ( 18 ) and you know that this is when your excitement goes like a rollercoaster! Besides, as I said, I only was on the AFO release eve, and this time I really want to feel that again. Sorry for acting like this... but I thought this forum was to express our feelings about the band.

The countdown starts nonetheless...
Hello, :bm_r:
Hehe, it's ok Diego starts a "Countdown to the 6th Album" topic a little early, I mean, this is 3 years coming. I could imagine some "6th album waiting" induced heart attacks in some fans Brother Bear ! I think the "real countdown" should start after we have the 1st single news and release date in mid August I'm hoping ! Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 _________________
