6th Album: Rock/Pop?? Please select your choice...
Hello Jamirotalkers,

Since like the album may sound rock/pop (Lenny? N.E.R.D??), I made a list of styles you would like to hear....

1. Rock/Pop
2. Funk/Rock
3. Rock/Electronic
4. Funk/Electronic
5. Acid Jazz/Funk
6. Acid Jazz/Rock (exists??)
7. Funk/Pop (??)

I don't know, but if they want to evolve, I would like to hear a mix of Rock & Funk... But the roots, an Acid Jazz/ Funk mixture should be the best....

I would like to know what you want for this 6th album. Remember that if Matt was the one who posted on the guestbook, it could have a base on rock/pop... so... I imagine I will be hearing a lot from mr. Rob Harris...

Select your choice,
D! (diego)

I think the new album is Funk/Rock. I don't know but i've the sensation of a rocky album because of Cannabliss, Soul Education (montreux jazz festival) and Black Devil Car. Let's see what they do!!!

I'm Listening to 'Brothers Like You' from a 1993 bootleg and it's so great! The days where a Jamiroquai song could grow on a bassline or beat are gone now, and the simplicity that made early tracks genius is now turned into electronic complexity to create average tunes and a longer wiat fro the next album...

I think it's gonna be Rock/Electronic

If Jamiroquai is going to be Electronic/Rock i suppose they are going to be a copy of Daft Punk. The sound of Jam is looked like Daft Punk. It's just my opinion... I don't know what you think...

Where's Polka/rock?!?
buffaloman_R Hello, buffaloman_R

Confused Hmmmm...I would have to go with 'Rock/Pop' on this topic Confused . I hate to say it, but by the 30 seconds of "BDC", it looks like they are going to go in that musical direction again, even if I won't completely agree with it. Oh well, at least JK didn't get in to "Polka"! hehe! I can't imagine JK in a funny new hat, "moving" around a stage playing a accordian...Ha Ha Ha!! Thanks for listening and Peace!

Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

A mixbag of sounds for the 6th album!!!
buffaloman_R Hello again, buffaloman_R

( Rolling Eyes Thinks to self, "Yeah, I'm a little more talkative today than I usually am. This comes with all the heavy thinking I do.") Smile I completely agree with you Funk Education, a unexpected mixture of all sounds would make a pleasant surprise for the 6th album Smile. If this did come to fruition, it would be gobbled up, passed on, and confuse alot of the various members of the Online Jamiroquai Community. It will interesing to see how everyone reacts to this "extreme music" move if Jamiroquai & JK decide to go that "music route". Very Happy Whatever direction is taken, the fruits of the 6th album will just make us fans much happier and more connected Very Happy! Thanks for listening and Peace!

Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

We already have one album in that vein, JamFan. Synkronized may have been a bit of a dog in sales, but I think it showed the full spectrum of what Jam could do. You still had the digeridoo, electronics, funk, and disco. I'd also throw in Space Cowboy, but that has a more uniform theme. I think they went all over the place with Synkronized more.

That being said, I like Funk/Rock. I'd like to see Rob get the chance to open it up on the guitar. Not speed-metal, mind you, but still, something heavier than usual.

Yes, i agree with you at all Supersonic1!!!! I think Synkronized is a combination between old and new sound!!!! Keyboards, Drums, Bass, Guitars, Percussion, Didgeridoo, DJ, Backing Vocals, Horns and Strings, and a lot of computers. I haven't see that. In A Funk Odyssey you only hear drums in Black Crow.... all the other tracks are computerized... But in Synkronized you have a sound between A Funk Odyssey and the Space cowboy album... We have supersonic, canned heat.... but in the other side we have buterfly, soul education.... Good observation Supersonic1!!!

yea, i love old sound of Jamiroquai..i mean that's what drew most of us here into "fans" of Jamiroquai..im not dissing the newer sound..i guess i just miss the old Jamiroquai as well..it would be SWEET if in this album we'd get a sound of both old and new.. a Jamiroquai fusion. something like Synkronized..BUT NOT THE SAME (of course). i'm definately looking forward to the new sound of this coming album. i like surprises Wink

if had to make a choice, Funk/Rock for me then.. not too much of the computerized sounds, just the right amount..i'd love to hear more of those elements mentioned by Funk Education and Supersonic1. Very Happy

aYa

Yes Crazy Buffalo, that is the sound of Jamiroquai. Jay wants to evolve the sound, but he is trying not to go so far away from his original sounds. Maybe he is gettin' to rocky, but mixing rock and funk we have Shoot the Moon, Cannabliss and Funk Odyssey. We only have to wait for the new Cd and we will se what have he done...

Well Crazy Buffalo, you've chosen like me... Funk/Rock is my musical combination for the new Album... but, where's the TWM, TROTSC and EOPE jazzy music??? just in the past... now Jay wants a new sound. Good for him but i'm missing trumpets, flutes, DJ and Yidakki. Crying or Very sad

Bye!! Wink

I miss those too, and the people who played them.

God bless D-Zire, Wallis, and Martin. They were good ones. Smile
