Funk Odyssey (non)Instrumental
On all of the CD's before AFO had a didgin' instrumental. Why did they choose not to use an instrumental (or even a didge) for AFO?

I'm not sure...maybe it was a decision of Sony (like how they weren't keen on letting them use more than 10 tracks on Synkronized)
Or maybe they just thought the album sounded nice as it was.
There could be loads of reasons really... _________________

maybe it didn't go well with the overall futuristic theme of the album. goes with the whole 'experimenting with new sounds' thing
bring the didge back darnit! |

Joel you really hit here.
I could even see the most obvious blunder about the omission of the didgeri-track (instrumental/non-instrumental).
It has become as much of trademark of Jamiroquai as 'the hat' and the artwork on each album.
As Davina said, the didge may not have been in keeping with the futuristic image of AFO, but it would not have limited or affected the overall AFO image either.
And if it was a victim of Sony's axe then I hope "Sir" JK has been working on 'synkronizing' better with them. After all I consider the love-hate relationship of Sony and Jamiroquai as ironic . . . the Japanese constitute such huge chunk of the international fan community, and per-capita I think they even pip the Italians as the world's biggest nation of Jamiroquai fans . . . and Sony is Japanese, yes ???
Curiosity leads me to wonder wether Dynamite will be with or without it's birthright of a didgeri-track???

I'm betting on no. I read somewhere on this site that Jay had to do some serious haggling with Sony just to get ONE track for Wallis and the didge. I figured Sony won out when he wasn't found on AFO. Sadly, I don't expect him-or the didge-back.

I like the most instrumental songs of them...
The Songs "Music of the Mind" and "Journey to Arnhemland" are the best. But the instrumental from Synkronized "Destitute Illusions" isn`t my song... I think the electronic instrumentals aren`t so good... |

Music of the Mind, Didjital Vibrations and Journey to Arnhemland are great instrumentals, and don't know but I like Destitute Illusion! Nice song... it's a Planet Home instrumental.. sounds great!! But of course... this track is nothing compared with the first three... Hate Sony... _________________ This is FunkEducation, supporting the 1992-1998 Jamiroquai!!
