DONT YOU MISS TOBY?
TOBY WAS SUPERB. I ALWAYS WANTED TO SEE HIM LIVE AND WHEN JAMIROQUAI CAME FOR FIRST TIME TO MY CITY (MADRID, 25.5.02) IT WAS TOO LATE. BEFORE THE SHOW I THOUGHT "GOD, I'M GONNA SEE JAY AFTER WAITING THOSE LONG YEARS AND TOBY TOO!" BUT I NEVER SEEN TOBY 'CAUSE IT WAS TOO LATE. TOBY LEFT THE GROUP.
THAT HURTED ME! AND I MISS HIM. HE HAS A JAMIROSOUL!
AND I WANNA WELCOME SIMON CARTER!

Sure I miss him. Maybe he'll come back to record, like he said he would?
We can always hope. |

for me toby and jay where the core of jamiroquais music, jays lyrics and tobys vibes fit perfectly, i think they did some of the greatest lines for the last 20 years, so i dont think jamiroquai will evber be the same, maybe the end is coming |

I think we need to keep optimistic. There's at least three albums left before the contract runs out, and I've been impressed with what I heard from Cannabliss. I don't know if Toby had anything to do with that or not, but it sounded good.
I've always been curious how much a part Jay was of the actual music writing. If you recall, the album says that Space Cowboy was written by Jay Kay alone, and that means Toby must have only helped translate what Jay heard in his head onto the keyboard. The chords of Space Cowboy are some of the more complex among Jamiroquai songs, so I'd be very interested to know Jay's influence on putting together chords, etc.
I'm afraid I haven't been writing lately....because I was in the UK! I went for twelve days, and I have to say it was incredible. I really felt at home! (more at home than I do in the US). I talked to some locals, had a few pints, and visited the ACID JAZZ MUSIC STORE! I got a T-Shirt. Anyway, it was a blast, but I'm glad to get back home to see my friends and to be able to get normal updates online!
Cheers! |

What was the reason that you felt more at home in England than in the US? Were the people familiar or the landscape? Tell us!! It sounds good, maybe you where an English Landlord in your previous life |

I really felt comfortable with the people....I wish I were born a Brit. The landscape is beautiful, too. I just feel at peace.
I've been watching Live In Verona, which I picked up in Edinburgh, and I finally realized what I've been missing! It's think it's funny....the USA is the place where the DVD is really needed, because we never get to see a live concert, and that's the only place they don't sell it! All the Europeans can see a concert whenever the band is nearby, but they get the DVD, not us.
Well, anyway, enough steaming for now. Take care! |

what i really don't understand is this...
Toby had said that he left the band only to spend more time with his family....
And look now, he's playing with another bands...
I think that's so stupid...
and muzzander, it would be great if Toby is back on the band... but forget it... i don't believe Toby back on Jamiroquai... don't know why, something tells me that... _________________ This is FunkEducation, supporting the 1992-1998 Jamiroquai!!

i think that Toby was fed up with touring not making the album music, the tours take a lot of time so hasnt been home for a long time.. _________________ "on the bass st.st..st..stuuu zender!!" |
