Coachella 2008
Starting to look pretty nice. The final confirmation comes down next week. There's usually a few more acts that will get added, but this is a pretty nice 3-day artist list. I can't wait!!!!

Aha, I see No Doubt as headliner for the first day.
Is Gwen Stefani back to her old band?

I guess... This festival is known for getting a big reunion each year... There's a more subtle reunion on the 2nd night. Outkast is playing. And when they say Outkast, that means both Andre 3000 and Big Boi.

They weren't really, but they had been doing a bunch of stuff on their own. That and I think Andre said a few years ago he didn't wanna tour anymore. $$$ always talks lol. This 'fest is usually a stepping stone for a lot of big summer tours. So I'm assuming the headliners will be touring the U.S. this summer.

Coachella Promoters Book NYC Based Festival
Posted by Jay Yee, Jan 16, 02:51 PM EST

AEG Live/Goldenvoice, the promotion partners responsible for the annual April festival Coachella in Indio, CA, are applying their talents to a summer East coast event at Liberty State Park, NJ (just a ferry ride across the Hudson River from lower Manhattan).

While the festival will not be branded with the Coachella label, the event is expected to follow in the footsteps of the Coachella ethos in music.

Headliners for the 2008 Coachella Festival (4/25-4/27) will be announced in the near future.

JGrizz,

Their flyers looks the same ever year buddy. It's the same format. You can view past posters at their myspace page (click on their pics). Some are on page 1 and the rest on page 2.
http://www.myspace.com/coachella

The link does say "Fake", and if I was fooled, ok... But the lineup and tickets go one sale always around this time. And it was from an LA times music columnist. Look at the first link I posted to read the article.

Now I agree on Dwight Yoakum... I think Coachella even has a county music fest later in the year on the same grounds (Stagecoach fest or something?). He seems more appropriate there. Of the others you ripped-
Radiohead might be who I look forward to seeing the most. Mars Volta, Beck, and Wolfmother are ok (as far as Mars Volta goes, how about an At the Drive-in reunion instead lol?).

When I went 2 years ago, the fest didn't seem as top-heavy. What I mean is, eventhough the festival always attracts big-time acts. Madonna, Kanye, Tool, 2 years ago... there were moire lesser-known acts throughout the 2 days that I was really excited to see, and most delivered (except Phoenix... bad live set). But this year a lot of the lesser-known acts are completeley unkown or uninteresting. So hopefully I'll discover some good new acts when I get there.

One last thing, if it is completely fake...

Hopefully some of hose lame bands will be replaced for the better... The artist listing is always power-packed, so I ain't scurred...

This isn't exactly Al Gore being declared the victor against Bush too early lol.

I'd like to apoligize to everyone in here. That link and poster was fake... to an extent. I'm usually not that gullable or that much of a rube, but the official lineup was announced yesterday. It's frankly a little underwhelming. Makes me wonder if it'll be like 2006 when Kanye West, Madonna, and Massive Attack were late additions to soup up the bill.

Go to
http://www.coachella.com
to see the poster of who's scheduled to appear. Day 2 looks the best IMO.

On another note, Deesh is right about an additional festival taking place out east. It'll be called the All Points West Festival, and it takes place the 2nd weekend in August in New Jersey. If my memory serves me, that'll be the week after Lollapalooza in Chicago.
