Love Foolosophy at Rock am Ring
Just been listening to the version of Love Foolosophy that Jamiroquai performed at the Rock am Ring festival in Germany on 18th May. The ending is wicked - I can imagine Jay movin' to this! Cool Apparantely it was first heard at the Carling Homecoming gig on 15th May. Very Happy

To check to the super cool ending youself go to:

Yep, it was first done for an audience at the Homecoming gig. Apparently they were playing around in rehearsals and decided to keep it like that.

That ending is wonderful, and it's a little bit of proof that, as a live band, they still got a good vibe.

wow ezbe, the amazing things that ppl can come up with when they're fooling around! i watched my friends do that at one fo their jam sessions - one of them was fiddling around on the keyboard and suddenly these beautiful chords came out.... how on earth SH*t like that happens... what a gift!

that LF ending was soooo good... it was like BOOM right in your face! silmilar to a bit in 'stillness in time' jazziroquai '95. the song in itself, love the way they occasionally switch from acoustic to original... keeps it unpredicatable Smile

Masters of their art
Attending several concerts within 3 days at the Rock im Park festival of Nuremberg jumpinggreens gave me the opportunity of comparison between different artists performance.

If anyone needs to be reassured Comfort the Poor Boy , which I doubt Wink , let me tell you that JAMIROQUAI was one of the best performance I saw there. My husband, who is no Jami fan, (well not yet Laughing , eh, eh)

A picture of this concert will remain in my mind:
Between 2 songs, JK goes to the 3 ladies of the back vocals and explain to them that he want to have this, but not that, and if possible at that moment . (you could see this on the live screen, without hearing anything JK would say, of course). I have not seen any other band adjusting their performance to the mood of the moment! Shocked This is art with a big A.
The luxury of little pauses between 2 songs seemed so unusual (because other bands just played their concert in a row snore ) that I almost thought that it was a trick from JK to impress the audience. You know, he looked like a football trainer who gives advice to his team about how to undertake the next attack.

During Jamiroquai's performance, I was overwhelmed Lick once or twice by this wonderful feeling that JK gives all he can and that he loves it. I do not need to mention the dexterity of the musicians who are truly masters of their art.

OK, SANTANA was very good too. Their set list was maybe more adequate to a festival than Jamiroquai's. SANTANA managed to have the whole stadium dance. Their latin sound and rhythm are irresistible. BUSH brought also something fresh and strong.

Still, it was a real joy to see and hear how JAMIROQUAI, manages to combine spontaneity (JK must have switched canned heat against hidden springs in his heels bounce ), inspiration and musical skills.

There were other artists from whom I had expected a good concert and who were extremely disappointing. Macy Gray left the stage while a member of her group had the audience repeat and sing vulgar words regret that 4-year old kids would fancy.
Wycleff Jean sang 3 cover versions of Bob Marley, 1 of Pink Flloyd, 1 of David Bowie and behave rudely on stage .

I left the concert on Sunday 19th, with the good feeling that king JAMIROQUAI belongs to the higher circle of music.
