Who would you like Jay Kay to work with?
It has been milling in my brain lately as to what artists or producers I would like to see JK team up with and was curious what everyone else's thoughts on this.
I would like to see the following:
A collaboration with Joss Stone
A duet with Stevie Wonder
Have an album produced by Mutt Lange (yes this would be a very interesting combo)
An Allstar track with the following:
Jamiroquai, Stevie Wonder, Lenny Kravitz, David Craig, Brand New Heavies, and George Clinton _________________ I used to worry about the future
But then I threw my caution to the wind.....
Peace,

You think so?
I think it depends on how JMQ evolves. _________________ By Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II - Now legally Licenced to navigate the Public Highways again.

I don't know, they'll stand the test of time with me anyway. Most people where I live haven't heard of Jamiroquai since 1997, and they already think of Jamiroquai as extinct, like Hanson and the Wallflowers.
I don't want to hear any duets, personally. Maybe it's just me. Maybe something with N'dea Davenport from the Heavies. But that's about it.
Cheers. |

Hello Jamirotalkers,
I think JMQ is too good to do things for themselves, they don't need any help. I can't find any artist who can work with them...
I was thinking Stevie Wonder, but the whole discussion about that he looks like him will come back again, that's something we don't need.
They are good enough to keep doing stuff, and the idea of having different bass players for this one is brilliant. Really.

Hello,
Hmmm, well Jamiroquai has worked with Kool & The Gang, M Beat, Guru's Jazzamatazz, & the idiots who made the 2 crappiest Summer Films "Titan A.E." & "Godzilla" to name the most notables..and not a very varied list is it ? Well, you guys have pretty named off the other artists I would like to see Jamiroquai collaborate with in the future. We know one thing, JK and Bootsy Collins never would get along ever again..hehe! Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000
(Slightly giggles at MackDaddy's poll being ballsy enough to call Jamiroquai in comparison with Led Zeppelin, definitely two big entirely different "ball fields"!) _________________

Hi JamiroFan!
What did you mean when you said that Jay couldn´t get on with Bootsy Collins any more ?
Are you referring to the story that Collins tried to steal ideas from Jay, when they were working together in the studio ?
Didn´t Jay say something like that in an interview ?
And do you happen to know which song Collins has stolen ? |

First off, Titan A.E. and Godzilla were great popcorn movies, Brent. Don't knock the lizard!
I can't really think of anyone...there was that Neptunes rumor that happened long ago, I take it nothing happened with that? _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. The MBeat collaboration was a disaster, it seems to me. I mean, DYKWYCF is one of my favorites. Did he have anything to do with the album version? Because I know that MBeat gets billing in the music video for the album version, where he doesn't really seem to do anything. And the version with his feeble lyric additions is downright terrible. The only thing I like is the different pitch and alternate recording of the song (Jay scatting through the second verse).
I don't know, it just seems like the artistic freedom will be compromised if there are any collaborations. AND I REALLY HOPE THAT THERE ISN'T A COLLABORATION ON THE SIXTH ALBUM. I wouldn't mind a separate release neccesarily, but it definitely should not be a part of album six. I hope not. |

Hahahahaha.....I know what you mean but when I think of true "staying" power I think of Led Zep. Think about it they haven't been together in years but yet you ask every new generation coming up and they know and most likely like Led Zep. I think Jamiroquai has that potential... granted yes two completely different genre. _________________ I used to worry about the future
