Carling Homecoming review by D!
Hello Jamirotalkers
I was listening the Carling Homecoming bootleg and I decided to make a review, cause I think is one of the best concerts they did.
For me is like a summary of this 14 years of Jamiroquai's odyssey. It has songs from all their eras -expect for 'Synkronized'- and with all the instruments, including sax and trumpets (very rare during the AFO Tour), and I definetely think the songs sounds so much better with this instruments, honestly.
Besides Matt Johnson is playing!, who I really believe is a great keyboardist, I can't wait to hear him play on the new album.
'Space Cowboy' sounds as fresh as if it was written a few days ago, all the versions they did all this 10 years are different and great at the same time. And now with trumpets and back singers... all at once! I wish I could listen something like this in March.
'Corner Of The Earth' represents the other side of 'A Funk Odyssey'. One side is the disco funky songs like 'Little L' and 'Love Foolosophy', and the other one this latin bossa nova songs. And this live version is awesome, the voice of Jay sounds better than in the 'Live in Verona DVD'.
'Love Foolosophy' has this little noises around the track that the Live In Verona one doesn't have (like when it sings 'And this Love! Fool!' between this two words you can hear the sounds I'm talking about). OK, is not that good lyrically speaking, and you can't really notice how good the instrumentation is in the studio version, in this live one you can.
Very rare the versions of 'When You Gonna Learn' and 'Too Young To Die', and this is what it makes this show a good one. This two songs remind me the old Jamiroquai from 94/ 95.
Anyway, just wanted to make this review cause I enjoyed listening this bootleg, besides the sound quality is very good.
'Wouldn't you like?'

Awwww.... that brings back memories....
Yessss, I was the kucky cow who got one of the 300 tickets to that special event! It was the best Jamiroquai concert I have ever seen! Unforgettable and so intimate!
Check out my (and a few more) reviews of the gig:

You can see me several times on the tv broadcasting... I was standing right in front of Jay - face to face.

Tell me, how can one get such a limited number ticket? Do they sell this kind of tickets in shops or where?
You know, I must prepare |

Oh yeah, I forgot.
Hmmm, with my luck, I'll never be on a gig like that. Well, for starters I'll be happy if I'll be on any next year.
It's really interesting that so many true fans from jamirotalk and jtalk won the tickets. The odd of that? That's why I first thought they were for sale.

Hello,
Well, again, Diego impresses me with another great review of a classic Jamiroquai show, much obliged brother ! I thought personally the gig was a little to "TV ivy", but there was a bunch scattered gems in this show. The performances of Jam songs was great, but it was little interviews with friends of JK and the whole lifestory of Jamiroquai and how JK started up that was the trigger to watch the whole gig for me. All of those mini-interviews should be compiled into a separate program, now that would really worth watching!!! Thanks again Diego for the thoughtful review, keep them coming! Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 _________________
