jamiroquai vs pop
there should be more jay kay`s out there. seriously, we need to fight those no-good fabricated pop acts which literally `pop` up in the music business and aquire immediate stardom. is that truly what music is really about
it`s sad to see the true meaning of music, the playing and writing of it, go down the drain. who sincerely still cares if a band has been working their arses off for 10 years or more?
i just read a recent interview of jays and one can clearly notice (between all the swearing lol) that it`s frustrating having such bands around. they give music a bad name. ok true tastes differ but come on the essence of music is to love it, to want to create it and those who have the talent and love for it should be accredited. ok it isn`t always so and many don`t find someone who`ll sign them but i`d rather have that then many pop idol shows where people go to for the wrong reason, namely to acquire instant fame and admiration. yes im generalising, i guess what really gets to me is the fact, that bands likejamiroquai who have already proven themselves to brilliant do not receive the credit they truly deserve.
oh well... jam on _________________ ~ only tears left to stain

I absolutely agree with you blackxcrow - but there's one thing we can't ignore: people (and especially kids) buy the records of these artificial so called "bands" And when the records are sold good - they are played on the radio stations all day long and they are invited to the tv shows and so on and so on. One thing comes to another and after all the majority of the people only wants to hear this kind of music. It's kind of brainwashing
But you're right, we have to fight it (fight the power yeah ) we boycott theses records and so don't support this trash |

I'm trying to do something...
Well, pals, this is my first intervention in this forum, so please forget me if I do this bad....
I agree with the topic of "Jamiroquai VS Pop" cos I'm really bored 'bout that nonsense noise (sounds bad, huh?) self-called POP. I got to tell you: I'm a biggest fan of Jamiroquai, but I like The Smashing Pumpkins & Garbage too... please, don't kick me away for that! so you can say that I'm not a great funker at all... BUT!
I realllllllllly like Jami like everybody in this forum....
In my country (I'm from Peru... Hola Causitas!) the radio just play Britney, BSB, and all the related paraphernalia... for me, this is just like the hell! My albums get melted because my Sony gets hot after 24 hours of unstoppable fonk oddysey..... and the others, of course...
I think that the world would be a better place to live without all those (...) popstars that just make our ears become rotten....
I hope that my english don't bother no one of my new friends...

Crucial question:
What was at the beginning of times: the chicken or the egg?
If people would not buy that kind of music, it would not be broadcasted on TV and Radio.
or
If this music would not be broadcasted on TV and Radio, people would not buy it.
I just don't know what is true. Maybe both together.
Now, maybe it is good that so many people buy this music that we rank as bad. It brings money to the records company which can invest in less known artists. Am an idealist dreamer here?
The definition of "POP" music is too wide for me to condemn it to be only of bad taste. I would classify "Little L" into POP and still I think it is VERY good.
Whitesnake, I praise you for your good taste. I like SMASHING PUMKIN so much. I would not classify it as POP, though, rather GRUNGE. But classification is always irrelevant for a band like SP or Jami.
Like Jamiroquai, this band developped their own style and look.
I like Garbage too, although I am not versed into ROCK so much.
Now what's the common point between Jami, SP and Garbarge?
Although their music style is so different, these 3 groups created their own sound and showed a rich creativity and originality. _________________ ?Now I've got that sunshine in my life? |
