Nothing like getting the news from the "horse's mouth" (i.e. from the man himself) Well now we have it...another tease to get us through the holidays... _________________ I used to worry about the future

(Just out of sheer boredom, does a Cut N Paste of JK's Christmas Greeting on J-Talk, gives a light smatter of applause to JK for having enough energy to relay a message to the Webmaster.)
Christmas message from Jay
Posted by Webmaster on 16/12/2004 10:53:14
It's been none stop work this year on the next studio album, I am really pleased and proud of it, it's full of summer sounds, and I really hope you like it. The release date is still to be confirmed but will be posted on the site as will all the tour dates for 2005. Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and a fantastic 2005. - Jay Kay
Hello,
(Please realize the following is my opinion, hate it or agreed with)
Hmmmm...you know, this really doesn't seem like the kind of greeting that we really deserve...do we?!? I mean, we have had to succumb to delay after delay, lackey forced updates from other bandmembers (Derrick & Sola), and some pithe' lame excuse of a album update out of the non-existant official webnovice...errr...webmaster. Granted, this is a nice touch to have JK give us a much deserved Christmas greeting, but through the WEBMASTER?!? Couldn't JK have taken a little time out of schmoozin Denise back into a second martial possibility, drive around for endless hours in his exotic cars, attending celebs parties to meet people who don't know who the heck he is and take just a smidgen of his precious time and ACTUALLY send a greeting to all the webmasters of all the Jamiroquai fansites who work tirelessly to maintain the already fragile Online Jamiroquai Community? Or am I just asking for too much? Trusting the webmaster of the Official Site to pass on a Christmas message to the fanbase on J-talk of all places is like expecting a sent Christmas gift through the U.S. postal service to arrive RIGHT on Christmas when it is clearly known that it was sent AFTER December 13th and will NOT arrive till AFTER Christmas! *Pants for breath*...I'm sorry, I didn't to lash out like that, it's just, they have put us through SO MUCH that I'm tired of standing idly by and just "Hip Hip Hooraying" any news or stuff that comes out that is not entirely equating to making up for all wrong that has happened. I may have gotten a little cynical, but I want more to be done to fix these problems, throwing greetings won't make things better. In any case, I accept JK's greeting, and just hope one of his New Year's Resolutions is to be a "Better and More Caring Artist Towards his Fanbase". Thanks for listening and hopefully understanding what I'm trying to say ! Happy holidays and Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000
P.S. to MackDaddy: Very keen perception, just another notch in the "stick of teases"...hehe! _________________

Ok I know I might get slammed for this but isn't the official site JK's site? And if it is wouldn't he be the webmaster? Just a theory but a lot of celebrities go incognito on the boards...perhaps "webmaster" is a cover to it actually being JK. The way I see it. Perhaps he chose not to use his actual name to posts things on the official site because other wise he would be bombared by messages. This way if he's disguised as the "webmaster" most people wouldn't catch on so messages would be minumal.
Just a thought _________________ I used to worry about the future

I don´t think Jay would be capable of doing the job of a webmaster.
Simply because he hasn´t got the slightest computer skills.
He said that in an interview a few years ago.
That´s why all the programming of the songs had to be done by Toby. |

but if he wants us to think that he isnt posting on the official site then of course that he would tell in the interview that he doesnt know a thing about computers...interesting theory but i think not possible kmack _________________ "on the bass st.st..st..stuuu zender!!" |

Hello again,
I would like to apologize to everyone on JamiroTalk.net for my last reply post . It was totally and utterly unprofessional, but when I have something irking me on my mind, I have to express or at least write it to get feedback to it . In regards to the hypothesis that JK moonlights as the Official Site webmaster, in a perfect world and after several long computer classes attended by JK, then that would be true. But in this world, he isn't, the ONLY net minded members of Jamiroquai are Sola Akingbola & Derrick McKenzie. The webmaster of the Official Site is Charlie Roberts who works for NASSTAR PRODUCTIONS (A Website publishing company if I remember right), you can see this by clicking on "Credits" on the mainpage of the Official Site. Now, if you want to e-mail the webmaster and complain about anything pertaining to the site, don't bother, I have e-mailed a million times and never got a answer back, though to note my original messages were nice and polite, then the scale of them went from "sweet" to "sour"! I can never remember a time where communication between Jamiroquai and the fanbase was more frayed, and a handful of fansites meant the difference between what news is truthful and what rumours are bollocks (The latter of which we are going through now). But as usual, to quote Comedian Dennis Miller, "This is just my opinion, I could be wrong." Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 _________________

We are but a small minority of fans who complain about the lack of updates and news...Jay really probably doesn't feel any desperate need to inform us regularly...
I suppose that the only thing he could give us is release dates anyway, and you know how unpredictable those are (Sony will be wanting to keep the rest under wraps for now)
It doesn't really matter...new year, new album - and in the end thats what we're all here waiting for _________________

Spot on Jamirofan. To be honest with you (and this is what I think - you can agree or disagree), JK probably didn't even come up with that message. He probably just said to his managers/Sony reps/whatever else they may be: Just write those f'n geeks a message so that they'll have somethin to talk about.
If you think about it, ofcourse "HE" is gonna send out Christmas greeting to his fans. It would just be f'n disasterous for HIS/their (which ever way you want to look at it) public image if he didn't. But I think we are all too easily lead and think as soon JK posts something, it's written by a god. We're all like: "OMG, OMG, JK has posted OMG OMG OMG I love you JK!!!" Ofcourse he didn't sit down at a computer and write that message. Did he fcuk. He's got better things to do like shag supermodels. It's all handled on such a commercial level.
Sorry if I sound harsh, but I think I'm being realistic.
Now was that controversial or what?
