Public JamiroTalk Service Announcement: Comment Posting..
Hello,
I would like to bring up a topic about a the current trend of posting I and my fellow Moderators have been noticing on JamiroTalk. This is no way implicating anyone on the way they post or on the content of their posts, just a "disclaimer" post". There have been alot of posts of either the comment or single thought variety, and a excessive amount of posts like this can strain the tranquil posting enviroment of JamiroTalk: Example: "Hello, wow that is cool. ~JamiroFan2000~". All I am saying is, to the users who have posted alot of these types of posts, please try to make your posts a little more "meaty", that is, think out your posts before you type them, that's all I'm asking. Please don't think this is a "slap on the wrist" for all of our seasoned postters, you all are great postters who bring a separate and unique vision of the world of Jamiroquai to everyone. It's just sometimes when there's not much news, a lack of discussion topics, or normal idleness, sometimes we find ourselves posting small comments as posts, I have done it in the past. So, please oh please don't offense from this post, just look at it this way: You can only keep growing and growing as a great postter. Thank you all for listening and hopefully understanding what I am trying to point out and rectify. Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 _________________

No offense taken...I know I've done this a few times but I try not to make a habit out of it. I feel as you do. If you're going to post something then let it be worth while to the reader. _________________ I used to worry about the future

Good points Brent! We've all made good friends on here so it's always useful if we have a little remark we want to make to a fellow poster to remember that we have the great feature of being able to send a private message!! I'm always forgetting that!!! |

Where does it come from? I guess that it's like a race: "who's got the highest sent posts score"
I have very few of them, although I've been visiting this side for a long time.
That's because of two reasons:
- I write when I have sth to say
- there are great people here who write valuable messages and responds, so there is not much to say left
I prize the most posts from people who have a great jamiro-knowledge and shear it with us (like f.ex. Diego or Brent). They spend their precious time on googling the net and finding interesting pieces for us. Thanks to them I don’t have to do this, and still, I'm "up to date". Thank you guys
all the best |

I think you made a good post, whoopiee, and I agree with everything that you say.
At the moment though, I don't think the problem is going away (and yes, in my eyes it is a problem, don't start going on about it)
This is not a f'in general discussion forum, it's a jamiroquai forum. Apart from a few good topics, the Jamily and the Offtopic forums might as well be deleted and I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Take a hint people, some of us are bored of this waffle/tripe/sh1t.
I had a good laugh at the Jay Kay Gay topic though, that should be made into "topic of the week" _________________ By Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II - Now legally Licenced to navigate the Public Highways again.

Okay: this is a Jamiroquai forum discussion, but when u say and u repeat all the same things, this could be become just a little bit boring (especially in this waiting period). I think that the Jamily and The offtopic are gr8: they are a way to know ourselves and what we r thinking about lots of things..... _________________

well put FRA.
you wouldn't be able to talk about the recent US elections in the Jamiroquai News section.
fans do have lives too and would like to talk about other things (other than JMQ).
this might be a Jamiroquai orientated forum, but it doesnt (and doesnt seem to be) so strict on being just that.
it loose, it's free, it's fun. good vibes zone. the Jamily and Offtopic sections must stay.
we can't just move over to some forum where everything is anything and it's just a general forum . |

Did I ever say something contrary to that? I don't think I did. OK, it's nice to discuss some thing about ourselves etc etc etc and I NEVER said it wasnt.
What I said was "Apart from a few good topics, the Jamily and the Offtopic...." OK, looking back now, I would perhaps emphasise that on the Offtopic section rather than Jamily. So yes, there are some good topics in there, but that's ALL I would say.

But the fact, Pietro, is that it IS a Jamiroquai forum. The Jamily & Offtopic (Offtopic especially) are like having cruise control on your car - nice to have, but just an optional extra.

Again, in my posts, I never said they SHOULD be deleted. What I said was
"might as well be deleted and I wouldn't lose any sleep over it" - implying that most of their recent content is crap (again, Offtopic especially)
"Researchers Find Gay Penguins!"...?
"FUNKY TRUCKS"...?
"Who would u rather run your country?"
So to sum up: while there are some good topics in Offtopic and Jamily, that most of them, especially the recent ones in Offtopic are waffle/tripe/sh1t and I know a lot of people who agree with me.
Well, we should all know we could get that from something else aswell. _________________ By Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II - Now legally Licenced to navigate the Public Highways again.

Thank you Mouse! (I just don't want to see such a good forum go down the drain and simply disintegrate into waffle like so many other forums have) _________________ By Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II - Now legally Licenced to navigate the Public Highways again.
