The next generation of Jamiroquai-fans...
Let me tell you about our little son Marlin (Little M) - 2 years and 4 months old now.
He used to watch "The Bear At The Big Blue House" and "Winnie the Pooh and Tigger" on TV. His favorite music had been a german CD for children called "Regenbogenfisch" (direct translation: rainbow-fish) and some other children's songs. He seemed to be an absolutly normal little boy. Of course in the parents eyes the own child is always unique, but I mean, for an outsider there was nothing striking. Just a cute, clever and handsome little boy.
One day everything changed...
Marlin catched me when I removed his "Regenbogenfisch"-CD from the CD-player and put on the AFO-Album. He asked interested: "That, Mama?"He can't speak full sentences yet - he is still learning the german language. But he tries to parrot everything he is hearing.
So, I told him: "Oh, that's JAMIROQUAI, Marlin. The song is called LITTLE L! Do you like it?"
Oh yeah, he liked it. I had to play it about 358 times while holding him on my arms and dancing through the living room
But that was just the beginning...
You know, Marlin is very curious and eager for knowledge... so everytime he was hearing a song in my car or in our house, he asked me for the title.
I was not allowed to play his children's songs again. And he even didn't like to see "The Bear in the big blue House" anymore. But instead he wishes to see the Videos of Jamiroquai.
A few weeks ago I was driving with him to his grandma. Suddenly I heard from the back seat the repeating words: "Music, music, music,... MIROWAI, please, Mama!!!" So, I put on AFO, second track .... A few seconds later (even before Jay begun to sing) he cried: No no no, not LITTLE L" ... it's funny to hear those english words from a little boy who can't even speak his native language
Okay, I switched to the next. And again the protest: "Not OLA OLA" ...You give me something is "Ola ola" for him. I guess it it because of that strange electronic singing sound at the start of that track, don't know it exactly...
I knew that he don't really like COTH, so I switched to Love Foolosophy. The same again: "No, Mama, not BABY BABY!!!" ....switch..."No, not STOP" ....switch.... Nooooo, not BLACK COW!!!.....switch..."Not MAIN VEIN"..... ....switch........."what's that , Mama???"
I told him that it was Twenty Zero One and he was finally satisfied!
After a few minutes he asked me to change the CD. Okay, next try.
Synkronized. "Mama, not DOWN DOWN DANCE!"...switch...and so on...
I was shocked!!! He knows so many songtitles and he can recognize a lot of songs after he has heard 4 seconds of it!!! Later I tried it with some live versions and remixes. He is able to recognize them all!!!
The same with the videos...
There are two little episodes on another thread in this forum...

The comment of my husband was: "Oh my god, you have created a monster!!!" ...

We found this headgear in the storage room of Marlins grandpa together with lumber and old toys. Everytime he looks at this photograph he says:
"...Marlin SONIC! "
Well, davina, don't think it is easy to be the mother of this little "whilrwind". Actually he is going through a defiant phase (thanks to my dictionary for that translation!)
And sometimes I am happy when he is finally in bed ...
But .... otherwise he can be so so cute and I could tell you loads of funky little storys about him (and Jamiroquai)...
...but then I'd better go to a mother's mailinglist or parents-discussionboard!
Love & best wishes,
Meike _________________ ~ I look up to Heaven, every star I see is mine.

It's so cool the recognize the improvement your kid is making.
The daughter of my best friend Mandy is named Naomi Lavinia and she sings with everything. Also Jamiroquai. She loves Little L, while her mother hates it. She also sings to Spanish numbers, like Shakira and Selena. She's now 4 years old and she can pronounce the words so perfectly, it's just scary! Only keeping tone (?) is very hard for her, but that's even hard for (most) adults.
PS-> Can anyone tell me how to put an image in here. It would be nice to show a picture of Naomi, but I don't know how.[/img] _________________
