iPod mania
Hi there,

I got an iPod for x-mas! bounce With a 40GB hard drive!
So, I am interested to know who of our community is also member of the iPod family??? Wink

Here is the place to talk about the iPod, share user infos, experiences, techincal stuff, software like iTunes and so on.

I am an absolute beginner. I must admit that my iPod is still empty! Embarassed That's because I can't use iTunes on my computer, because I only have an apple G3 with MacOS 9... from what I have understood I need MacOS X to be able to use the software iTunes.

But as I need a new computer anyways, I ordered already the new iMac.
As soon as I have it, I will start to download and fill my iPod!

Sooo, who of you is an owner of an iPod? Hands up!!

Mouse

Confused why everybody wants to buy or wants one of these? where you gonna listen 40 Gb of music in a day? Rolling Eyes
Well if with 512mb you can already listen about 80 musics , now ...80 musics every with 3 minutes : 240 minutes! well is 4 hours of music! LOL i can't stand so much time the headphones on my hears.
Now lets make the counts for the 4 GB! is how many? 625 musics? 3 minutes every one : 1875 : 31 Hours! Surprised Surprised jjajajjaja amazing! (you can't listen all in a day Razz)
I see a great thing in that , cause is a free disc that we got to use in the computer!
Guess is very expensive Rolling Eyes What is the price for it?
I have my mp3 player, 128mb and got radio on it!

i was thinking about buying an iPod, but then i bought an MP3 CD player for my car, because i know that i will be using my car alot. Razz and i have a Sony MP3 CD player for walking around.

the one major turnoff with the iPods is that their are never any specials on them. they cost the same everywhere ($498 AUD for a 20gB one), so their isnt any competitiveness in it.

Like you said, there's no real need for one...but who cares. Its a gadget, and we all like gadgets.

So if you happen to be the type of person who can get by without having some music playing, then you bought the right MP3 player. By and large, people purchase them in order to keep a selection of music with them. I have the 4GB iPod Mini and I usually have mine on shuffle. It's nice to hear some random song, instead of being forced to select from a small group of songs. 4 hours of music might sound like a lot, but that's not even all five Jamiroquai albums...

I guess the funniest part of this for me is that the bandwagon of people who have nothing good to say about iPods (or any MP3 player with a lot of storage) get so worked up over it. Who cares? You aren't buying it for them so why complain or question their purchases... Rolling Eyes
