Who thinks J sings too much?
After reading a previous post about J's voice sounding pretty s**t of late, Geuze made a great point and something I have always thought aswell when listening to J'Quai live, which is that J tends to sing too much sometimes especially on intrumental breaks!
One of the delights of J'Quai's music is the quality of the instrumentation on their songs. When I am listening to a live concert of theirs I especially look forward to the insrumental breaks, Little L, Love Fool, Space Cowboy, etc, only to hear J constantly ooh'ing and ahh'ing over the music when I find quite annoying.
Although I still love J!!!
I wonder if this annoys the other bandmembers?
What does everyone else think?
Peace every1!

Couldn't agree more with you. J is a great singer ... but exaggerates when it comes to "baby baby" "dont you know...." and other things that repeats a lot. And it does bother me. I think in the earlier times he didn't used to do it that much. _________________ We're going to a funktion yeah yeah yeah |

Yes he should shut up a bit. I love his voice, but the instrumental bits are just as good as the singing bits, and I like to hear the music. _________________ Fascist.

i really don't care about that....
but in a version of We Gettin Down, he exagerates too much with "we getting doooooowwnnn, we getting doooooowwnnnnn" it's very repetitive! but i like it yet... _________________ This is FunkEducation, supporting the 1992-1998 Jamiroquai!!

i think scatting is not singing. but the last thing i'd think of durng a Jamiroquai concert is if it Jay's scatting... i'd be more worried in trying to grab him , don't you think girls? _________________

I think that if any bandmember would ever argue with Jay about this, the poor would get fired in a second. |

I don't think he sings too much. My life revolves around beats but I'm so in love with Jay's unique voice. First time I heard Cosmic Girl I thought he was a woman! _________________ There's no I in ugly but there is U |

i think that Jay does sing a bit too much, BUT is very good at adding words to bits where there really shouldnt be words; i dont know how to describe it, but it fits in perfectly.
no-one can scat like Jay can.
onyer jay. |
