Which are your favourite books?
hello JamiroTalkers... I've noticed that there are topics about favourite movies, TV shows and TV series, so why don't we talk about our favourite books too?
mine are (in no special order, as usual Razz):
- Romeo and Juliet (William Shakespeare)
- Hamlet (William Shakespeare)
- Macbeth (William Shakespeare)
- The 5 Harry Potter books (Joanne Kathleen Rowling)
- Quidditch through the ages (Joanne Kathleen Rowling)
- Fantastic beasts and where to find them (Joanne Kathleen Rowling)
- The Aleph (Jorge Luis Borges)
- Clodha's Castle (I can't remember the name of the writer Confused )
- The Dreamcatcher (Stephen King)
- Rhymes and Legends (Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer)
- The Black Cat (Edgar Allan Poe)
- The Little Prince (Antoine de Saint Exúpery)
And finally, the most important book for me, a book where you can find anything you want to solve a problem or find peace inside your soul: THE HOLY BIBLE
I know this is not a very normal sellection of books for a 15 year old girl, but it's what I like!

I've a real propension for all the classic books: i love the literature, above all the French one, so my favoured books are : Les Miserables et L'homme qui rit, written by the Great Victor Hugo.

If you're into horses, then I'd recommend The Flambards Trilogy by K.M.Peyton.

I enjoy reading plays & one of my all time favourites is "A Streetcar Named Desire" by Tennessee Williams. Good story & I love how through the descriptions of the sets, & the use of music, colours etc & their subtle nuances it really helps to express emotions & sets the mood of the story... Very Happy

(Sorry, I'm sounding like some kind of loved up theatrical buff here aren't I?!!)

Hello Jamirotalkers,

I love suspense novels, and the last ones I read were 'Huida al Sur' (Fled to the south), 'Wilt' and 'La Muerte es un Asunto Solitario' (Death is a solitary subject).

I read also 'Goosebumps' when I was a kid:

I also read the Pepe Muleiro's book of jokes, haha, so funny!

And my all-time favorite!

'Where's Wally?':

Is so much fun! Not only you have to find a lot of things, but also the drawings got better in every book. And it has HUNDRETHs of graphic jokes, that you keep finding in every poster. Haha... what a child! Embarassed

''Writer'' who has stolem every single sentence of his books. All of his fans should read Ring of Nibelung - Wagner (opera). You all will find it veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery similar with Tolkien. And carachters................
Just read some Norvegian, Danish and Gearman mitology. You will find plenty of ''his'' carachters there. Probably all of them. At least I did.....

Okok I've read lots of mythology and I know what you mean but Tolkien wasn't a thief... one of the intentions on his work was to make those myths more appealing to future generations... and you can see the results now... Mythologies from over the world are very alike beacause were created to answer the big questions of mankind and to keep some values for the people to come. Tolkien doesn't fail in this objective. In fact Tolkien himself encouraged people to read these classic myhts. I think you should see it as an influence, not stealing.
