I'm confused, but I'm assuming that "Slayer" is someone other than the band "Slayer" ("...ON AND ON SOUTH OF HEA-VEN!"???

I've just recently calmed down enough to actually appreciate Jazz.
It's sad really because I was probably born to be a big part of some Jazz scene somewhere, it just took me 30 years to figure that out.
Funny how life works.

I was REALLY digging the sound going on in Tallulah.
(That flute is something, I've never been big on flute, I guess I just never listened).

Random thought:

Tallulah, is an old southern name, and to me (in the past) not a very pretty sounding name.
Here in America (at least the way I've heard it pronounced)
Tugh-loo-lugh (usually a big emphasis on the UGH). Real harsh, blah and dumb sounding.

I really tripped out on what a beautiful name it acutally is, hearing
it sung (by Jay).

I'm sure that EVERY Tallulah in America is very Thankful for Jamiroquai, and if not, they really ought to be. hee hee

Just some mind spewage. No offense to Tallulah (Your beautiful gurl-just listen).

Jazz
Sometimes I think of Jazz - as H*E* (Double hockey stick) - then, I list to Jami and I know everything is going to be right as rain.

I must admit that I do enjoy a good dose of Slayer (yes, the band of the same name) from time to time (just to ease the nerves)... Raining Blood is a nice little ditty. But, then again, there are times when I enjoy the funky rhythms of a more subdued nature… these time I call the “salad says” and that’s when Jami comes into play (among others). Does anyone enjoy slightly angrier music on occasion, or am I in the minority around here? lol Twisted Evil

Dude... I JUST got over Rob Zombie Laughing
I was really into White Zombie, and then Rob's next band.
I mean just before I fell in love with Jami I was mostly listening to OTEP-"Sevas-Tra".
and old "Hive"-"Devious Methods".
I "was" a Metallica junky back in the day, Prong, Suicidal Tendencies rocked my world, Primus, Sum 41, Ministry,Pantera, etc.... So, no...
your NOT alone.

I mean way back in the day, I was really into Prince, then I got angry my last couple of years in highschool and switched to the punk/skater scene thing.

My Dad's a Jazz musician (Alto Saz). But, really until like two years ago...I never listened to it. Then all of a sudden, a wierd thing happened...
I saw Prince live, finally. The funk was back in my life.Wink~
And, then I started checking out Jazz.

People like Diana Krawl, and Henry Connick Jr started sounding really good to me.
They're lyrics were matching what I was feeling, (when I wasn't feeling angry or devious). It was like, magic. I think I finally started to grow up (a little).Wink

But yeah, I have my Pinkfloyd/ Coldplay days.
And then my angry/devious days.

But, for me...Jamiroquai is fitting all of my moods lately. Kind of anger managment.Wink I think I really love so many different sounds and they just combined so many of them and got funky, deep, political, and sexy with it and damn I love to dance!

And, Between Phoenix and Jamiroquai, I'm falling in love with that little triangle instrument.;D Someone's playing the H-E- ( double bloody icepicks) out of those bad boys!
I freaking bought one (with the money falling off my tree in the backyard) and I've been practicing like crazy...it's hard to make that sound!
You know what I JUST realized...
OMG...I bet they're using a synthasized freaking triangle sound!!!!! OMG! Did I just come to that realization out loud? Shocked

Out Loud
Sounds like a similar transformation to what I experienced a number of years ago as well... Music is so very broad in its scope and if one is a reasonably complex person the realization is that you can pic music to fit (or influence) your mood. I like the cut of your jib. And yes, you did just say that out loud... lol. What's currently in your player?

PS: I love Prince's work... I have three of his albums.... along with an assortment of Slayer, Black Sabbath, Nirvana, Alice in Chains etc... etc... etc...

Sabbath is always in my player. Twisted Evil
I was really into "Soundgarden" so I follow what "dude's" doing...
Currently I'm rotating (manually depending on mood):
Jamiroquai-a funk odyssey
jamiroquai-dynamite
Chris Cornell-Euphoria Morning
Eric Clapton- The soundtrack from the Motion picture RUSH.
Weather Report-Black Market
HIve-Devious Methods
Otep-Svas tra
Tom Waits-Rain Dogs
Allman Brothers Band-a decade of hits 1969-1979 (I love "Whipping Post"when I'm at my wit's end).
Adam f-Colours
Coldplay-Rush of blood to the head
Norah Jones-come away with me/feels like home
Basia-Clear Horizon (don't you dare laugh at me!)
Black Sabbath-Symptoms of the Universe (all of my original tapes are warped beyond proper sound.Wink
Prince-Dirty Mind/ Musicology

I'll probably go in box in my closet and switch some today.

What are you listening to??

I Pod
I think Ipods are nice - I just use my PDA with a 512 card in it (HP Ipaq 4150). Its' a little slimmer than an Ipod and far more useful. I just find that I switch the card more often.... Graduate? What are you taking, and how far along are you? Office jobs are odd... this is the first one I've had in years... lol.

I hope all is well in the mid-west... Twisted Evil

OH yeah-the midwest... it was like 70 degrees out three days ago, then rain and cold, then snow hit the next day (and I mean PERFECT, skiing conditions, nice snow, full moon, perfect) then it was like 65 degrees the next day and it all melted and then spring and sunny or something and now it's cold and rainy again. It's insane basically.

PDA? like the Palm Pilots? They have some that play music too??!
WOOOOOW!
Twisted Evil
I was in a sleep disorder study (I needed the money) and I had to use a palm pilot for a week to record info. I was thinking, "I want one of these", if you can download music to them...that's awesome, and that's the route I'm going.

I was thinking about an ipod with the bose thing, but something told me to hold off.
