Sixth album: huge or exiguous sucess?
Tell me one thing Jamily people, do you think this album will be a huge or a exiguous sucess? And what would you do to help Jamiroquai to be the most selling band this year? Let's face this matter as critics, not fans. For me JMQ is already the best band in this year. lololololololol!
Thanks for replying!

Hello,
Well, I would never want to assume the job of a music critic, cause personal musical interests always have a tendency in causing unfair music review...I mean just look at the lackluster state of Rolling Stone Magazine...but I digress . If anything that I hope for with "Dynamite" is extreme sales success for Europe and Asia, as for the states, if they have a modest success here and don't fall into the stagnant American Mainstream, then I will be VERY happy. I would also like to see them do a even more extended states tour, maybe a little more of the smaller cities next to the big cities. Overall, it will be a exciting 2005 for all fans in general, all we now is "FJLIS" on the radio and things will really take off ! Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 _________________

I see a good solid three to four million albums sold across Europe/Asia/Australia. As for everywhere else, I say about one and a half million.
I really wish I knew how many albums AFO sold in North America to gauge how much might be sold across the U.S. and Canada...I wouldn't be surprised if Canada sold more than the States. To put it nicely, it'll be a miracle if the next album goes gold in America (500k copies). I just don't feel radio getting behind this....I hope they prove me wrong. _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. It really does. It all depends on SONY, I think. The good news is, it sounds like Jay is eager to give it another go in the states, which means he's probably going to pressure SONY even more to back him up. The mainstream music in this country is swinging more and more towards funk and disco... and most of the artists writing this new music aren't even very skilled at interesting disco sounds, they just come up with a little riff and play it OVER AND OVER AND OVER again. But dance music is on the rise again I feel, and I think now, even more than 1997, The US is ready for Jamiroquai.
In any case, I doubt they'll be coming to Richmond, Brent. Sorry.
Cheers. |

If the album is the same as Funk Odessy I reckon it should be quite a big success cos it appeals to more people. But if it's more like the old ones like Emergency On Planet Earth im not sure it will be that big! Personally I love the old stuff Travelling without Moving, Use the Force etc. It was different from most of that R'nB nonsense i was hearing but Jamiroquai is starting to blend in. _________________ There's no I in ugly but there is U |

Have faith! I feel music at this point in the states can go in any direction especially dance.. just look at Gwen Stefani...from No Doubt her first solo and its completely dance.(80's new wave/dance style).(what you waiting for).so far her stuff is popular....I never as a teen fan of hers then, ever thought she'd do a dance album. She was orginally a punk ska rock chick. so if jamiroquai puts out anything with a lil dance (or not) then i guess success is much more likely now than ever. |
