Jamiroquai: website backing new album
LONDON - Jamiroquai, led by fast-living frontman Jay Kay, has unveiled a new website to coincide with a new album from the band.
The act, which is signed to Sony BMG, will roll out the site to coincide with its new single 'Feels Just Like it Should', from the group's sixth album 'Dynamite'.
Additional sections will roll out over the next 12 months to support single and album launches and world tour schedules.
The site aims to offer a focal point for fans of Kay and the band. It currently offers news, digital downloads, and merchandise and fans can join the Jam Party People mailing list. Other features include links to a merchandise area selling music and memorabilia, mobile content and a forum.
The site was developed in collaboration between Sony BMG, Jamiroquai and agency Holler.
The digital download service was provided by 7 digital media, and Nasstar built the content management system.
James Kirkham, managing director at Holler, said: "We have created a site, which is intended to first attract users in through stunning animation and visual imagery, then retain them through a variety of mechanics designed to keep the user interested and returning on a regular basis." |

Jamiroquai's HOT New Album 'Dynamite' Explodes June 20, 2005
SYDNEY, Australia (Sony BMG Australia) - We're SUPER excited to announce that Jamiroquai release their new studio album 'Dynamite' on June 20, featuring the first single 'Feels Just Like It Should' - a ramped up, high-octane slab of organic funk that says Jay Kay is back with a vengeance!
It's been thirteen year since Jamiroquai main-man Jay Kay appeared on the scene - a skinny white kid with a skateboard, a passion for vintage rare groove and a bizarre 'Buffalo' hat. Twenty million albums, four world tours and 141 weeks on the UK singles chart later, Jay Kay has morphed from poster boy of the early nineties acid jazz revolution to international music (and hat) icon, delivering some of freshest, funkiest sounds our ears have ever been served with and it's about to get a whole lot better...
Start getting excited peeps because the new Jamiroquai studio album, 'Dynamite,' will be released on on June 20 and we can say it's been worth the four year wait since 'A Funk Odyssey' - this is an amazing, kickbutt return to form.
Written and recorded over two years in Spain, Italy, Costa Rica, Scotland, New York, Los Angeles and his own purpose built Buckinghamshire studio, 'Dynamite' is both a consolidation of thirteen years of Jamiroquai's trademarked sci-fi sound and a cocky, two fingers to anyone who thinks that at 35, Kay might be resting on his country pile.
"You've always got something to prove in this game," Jay says. "But the bottom line is I still love it. I love the thrill of seeing a track come together, and with this album we've been sitting with tracks, meticulously going through them, changing things, getting it right."
And if you need proof, just listen out for first single 'Feels Just Like It Should', already tearing it up at Oz radio....set for release on June 6, this is a ramped-up, high-octane snarl - Jamiroquai's organic funk put through a digital grinder and pinned to a filthy groove.
"Yeah, it's really filthy. And that bass groove came from me pissing about as a human beatbox. You hear it and think what the f**k's this? If you haven't had an album out in four years you want to have an impact, and this says it, I'm back with a vengeance."
Hear 'ear! Expect to see the hot hot HOT video for 'Feels Just Like It Should' on your TV screens very soon. And stay tuned for news of Jamiroquai's world tour - word is we can expect to see Jay Kay and co funkin up our part of the woods once again by the end of the year.

DEFINITION FOR NORMAL FANS: "We here at Holler believe being hired after a lagging 4 year update of the Official Jamiroquai Website as a challenge and a blessing. We have updated and enhanced the new Official Site with somewhat amusing new Flash animation and a even more annoying music sampler with snippets of the worst parts of past Jamiroquai hits. In addition to that, we added the latest technology in chat forums by converting the lackluster "J-Talk" into a PHP style chat forum, so more fans can grumble till we can properly update the technology, remember, our company is still in 2002 mind you. Also, with a limitless amount of newbie fans, creative discussion will become a novelty and new hordes of pre-teen JK stalkers will lightly bloom with redundant commentary instead of engrossing posts. Expect more from us soon pertaining with the Official Jamiroquai Site soon, in about oh....*Looks at Rolex watch*....4 1/2 years!"
Har Har Har ! Sorry, couldn't resist, great job on the news article finding Diego, well done ! Hard to read about great stuff concerning Jamiroquai and "Dynamite" when you have to remember the collective media is in a "dim stage" right now...hehe . Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000
