Ideas for future JMQ projects!
Hello Jamirotalkers,
I was thinking this last night, the 6 Jamiroquai albums have been different styles, mixed with dance, maybe a little rock in 'Dynamite', or acid jazz and bossa nova. I was wondering if they should do something different on the next projects, to finish their 8 album deal with Sony. Just an idea, I don't know if in the 7th or in the 8th one, but I was thinking stuff like this:
-An album entirely with ballads (like Beck's 'Sea Change'... plus everybody loves 'SDISJ').
-A Double album, with unreleased tracks in one side.
-A Double album, with instrumentals in one side (could be from previous songs or new ones).
-A live album, made specially. Like, for example, more than 20 songs, remembering all this JMQ years, with everything: horns, DJ's, backing singers; all live eras in this special album. Not a goodbye, of course! I hope Jay will keep making music, like he said in the official site, that still loves the thrill of seeing a track come together. That's good news.
-An album with special guests? Like Santana did in 'Supernatural' (and then the horrible 'Shaman'). Of course with bands like Incognito, Brand New Heavies, or maybe Roy Ayers and Stevie Wonder.
-A Re-recording of JMQ's best songs (maybe coming from a poll made at the official site), a special edition with a DVD containing all videos.
-Definetely not a greatest hits album. Bands that are not having success release a a greatest hits album!
-A live album/DVD with the best songs ever performed live. The bad thing is that most of the best concerts doesn't have such good sound quality
-A Double album, with the first JMQ era un one side (acid jazz, soul), and the second one in the other side (dance, funk). All brand new songs.
-An album entirely with dance songs, new ones and perhaps remixes made by the band themselves.
Please give your opinion and choose one idea for a future Jamiroquai proyect (keep in mind that choosing to make an album with unreleased tracks will not take too long to release it, cause they are already made. Maybe a few changes, but is not like making a new album from scratch).
'But you don't get that it's yourself you will destroy'

Hello,
Nice topic Diego! The following options I like:
A Double album, with unreleased tracks in one side and new tracks on the other side
A live album, made specially. Like, for example, more than 20 songs, remembering all this JMQ years, with everything: horns, DJ's, backing singers; all live eras in this special album. Hopefully in excellent soundquality if that's possible.
A live album/DVD with the best songs ever performed live. The bad thing is that most of the best concerts doesn't have such good sound quality. If the soundquality isn't that good, make it a DVD with the registration of a gig of the Dynamite Tour, comparable with the Verona DVD. I'd really love this.
A Double album, with the first JMQ era un one side (acid jazz, soul), and the second one in the other side (dance, funk). All brand new songs. Yes!! Very good idea
An album with new tracks, only filled with long versions over 6/7 minutes. And with Jay scatting, instrumental solo's and brass section.
What I definitely don't want:
An album entirely with ballads (like Beck's 'Sea Change'... plus everybody loves 'SDISJ'). I want to hear Derrick and the new bassist too! And want to hear Jam!
A Double album, with instrumentals in one side (could be from previous songs or new ones). I want to hear Jay too. One or two instrumentals are the maximum.
An album with special guests. No!
A greatest hits album. You are so right Diego
Maybe other people have nice ideas too? And then vote...and then send it to Jay

What I and I believe most fans would like, would be the complete DVD video collection. This would be an instant best seller !! |

yes but you must remember that not all gigs have been professionally filmed; bootlegs are the go now. |

There is already a video collection, although not officially released for sale. I have an original sony promo vhs video tape from sony, bought it some time ago on ebay. It has 21 video's in very good quality, great to watch on TV.
From time to time dvd versions are offered on ebay, which I think are dvd copies from that tape, cause the track list is the same.
These videos are on the tape:
Too young to die
Emergency on planet earth
Blow your mind
When you gonna learn
Space cowboy
Half the man
Light years
Stillness in time
Virtual insanity
Cosmic girl
Alright
Do you know where you're coming from
High times
Deeper underground
Canned heat
Supersonic
King for a day
Littel L
You give me something

Metallica's some kind of monster dvd had 7 hours extra footage plus the 3 hour movie thats what JAMIROQUAI need!!!!!
I really think a "best of" will come after the 8th album but it deffintly wont mark the end of a career. Robbie has a best of and hes only 30! I hope jamiroquai stick together like Metallica or if they dont i hope down the track the reunite for a big ass tour like black sabbath etc.... _________________
