I'm a bit confused :o(
Hi everyone
I'm looking around the forum, but there's tons of news about the new Jamiroquai album Dynamite, and I was wandering, does anyone know the UK release date for the album?
I've got Synkronized and A Funk Odyssey on CD, love those albums Soon will buy the rest, and the new one too
I actually had Synkronized and A Funk Odyssey for around 4 years, I don't know why its taken me this long to want to get the other Jamiroquai albums, considering how much ass Jamirquai can kick!
I'm excited in getting their 3 older albums (I'll get em in June), and although not sure of the release date of Dynamite looking forward to that too. |

I bought the 3 old albums yesterday, they were also on sale at HMV, so I got them cheap
The 3 old albums are really great
Especially Travelling Without Moving |

The great thing about Jamiroquai music is that it grows on you.
When I first listened to ROTSC, I was very undecided as to what I thought of it. Now I absolutely love it -
Its strange how that works. |

thanks dudes for your opinions on the albums, its interesting to see what you think of them.
Yeah its true, you need quite a few listens to have an album really grow on you. It took about 3 for Synkronized to grow on me around 4 years ago. Sykronized is special to me, becuase I'm pretty sure it was my first (Funk Odyssey was my 2nd, bought it when it came out). Also I used to have the PC game 'Driver' set in the 1970's, you had to drive around New York, Miami, San Francisco. I loved playing Synkronized as the soundtrack to the game. Tracks such as Canned Heat (I love that song) fit the Miami level perflectly, with Toby's electro 70's keyboards
Also has some other real good songs like Deeper Underground.
I love A Funk Odyssey, very danceable album with classics like Love Foolosophy and Little L, Feels So Good, Twenty Zero One
The first 3 Jamiroquai albums I've only heard once each, but I love Emergency on Planet Earth, really nice Acid Jazz sounds, with Digeridoo's, Flutes, horns, etc. Some really sweet keyboard playing, etc. I like Jay's message in the booklet too.
Travelling Without Moving, is extremely good, some nice chillout tracks, and some classics such as Virtual Insanity, and one of my all time favourite Jamiroquai tracks "Cosmic Girl" I love that song So much.
Return of the Space Cowboy is good, I must listen to it more, I now see what you mean about it being a "chill out album" I didn't know what to expect, but when I listened to it, I thought "this music isn't fast, funky, but its slow, and mellow, relaxing, with lovely slow keyboards"
It's really strange that I owned Synkronized & AFO for 4 years, and didnt think about buying the first 3 albums, only suddenly in the last few days I wanted to buy the old one,s I';m glad I did, and at a very good time too, their new album Dynamite is getting released soon on June 20, and I really can't wait, I liked the sample i heard of Electric Mistress, and Love waht I heard of Seven Days in Sunny June.

yeah a long time ago when i first discovered jamiroquai and was busy downloading all the first three album tracks, (of course i have the albums legally now) ROTSC was the only one i thought was crap... but now its perhaps my favourite, if only because i have played AFO absolutely to death. tracks like just another story, mr moon, scam etc are real gems for me.
EOPE - My oldskool album
ROTSC - My finger-my-steeringwheel-and-strum-my-thigh-like-a-bass-
guitar-whilst-nodding-my-head-vigourously album. (works best on scam and jas) I dont really care for the slower tracks like stillness, or light years etc
TWOM - These days i only listen for the title track... its great for the in-car bass guitar action too
SYNK - My late night/rainy day or chillout album (dont ask me why but tracks like planet home make feel like curling up in bed when its cold)
AFO - Ive played this album to death and dont listen that much now.. but always good when im worked up or energetic
DYMTE - So far, my dance album... esp FJLIS and EM |
