¸.¤°´¯`.¸ Give me back my SOUL.....
......I get annoyed that there is no soul music in the charts any more....its now called r'n'b......but most of that is crap....ooooops i mean rap.(the c is a silent c).what ever happened to the likes of Luther Vondross, Alexander O'neal etc?And back to 'what genre is jamiroquai?'....well.....one day i may think its all Jazz / Funk.....then the next i will notice some SOUL music....and some funk....and some boogie/disco.....etc.It doesnt really matter to me...as long as its good.Just as long as he doesnt start rapping. Then I wont buy it.

Alexander O'neal
Alexander O'neal is my favorite singer of all time.
I'm 17. And have been brought up on soul/rnb/funk.
I've been to see Alexander O'neal 6 times. I have all his albums and last time i went to see him was a few months ago.
His voice is still as good as ever- but theres no market for him.
Its sad.
I love Jamiroquai - but Alexander O'neal still tops my chart.

In Germany the charts are always the same too. And on the radio they only play the chart songs - it really makes me sick!!! I seems as if they play one tape round and round again the whole day long.
Do you think this will change in future?? I'm afraid it will even get worse |

hey, darth, i think there is nobody else on this planet, who is not part of the band, of the road-crew or married/involved to either one of them or part of sony music, who has seen jamiroquai more often than you have...
that's what i call a devoted fan. i think, it's fantastic. and if i would have the opportunity to see them this often, i would do it just the same way! _________________ Dear Auntie Em. Hate you, hate Kansas, took the dog. Dorothy. x |

No soul.....
Yes, I agree with you Butterfly and DarthBuzz.
It is hard to hear Soul played by radio stations or on the Video Channels.
Still, there are some exception. I classify Alicia Keys "Fallin'" into the Soul category and her track has been played a lot. I wish they would play Erika Baduh on the German stations but she seems almost unknown round here. I really like her album "Mama's Gun".
Spacevinny, thanks for enriching our knowledge: I had never heard about A. O'Neal before. I will try to find his music to listen to. |
