Mission Backsingers
Okay Guys!! After hearing Space Cowboy live in the BBC radio 1 sessions I have concluded with a plan to kill all of the backsingers.. I can't believe what they have done with my favorite tracks of all times... is awfull.. how is possible that Jk have turn something so god in something that sounds like destiny's child... My god!! where the hell happen to Dj Dzire !! I remeber thoses days with tears in my eyes... Hopefully others songs will sound better.. it's amazing how some of the old songs sounded so different in the last tour.. I remeber that canned heat in the tour synkronized sounded kind of lame, but in the funk odyssey sounded great and incredible with titan next to it.
Ohh well... there's always hope in my heart when I listen Jamiroquai!!
ps: the Mission is not impossible, any volunteers ? |

well man the great jamiroquai days are gone...
they're now coming with a new scheme and everybody seems to like it...
there are great tunes like seven days in sunny june, yeh man that song sounds amazing performed live... i really love the song...
DJ Dzire was just a part of the high times of jamiroquai, now the sound is different and the backing vocals are doing the job... i don't like them, but they make a great job in some songs... for example in Main Vein at Verona they maded me cry... yes, they did a great job... now, they added the fat lady and the vocals sounds like a church chorus... sounds strange for me... the vocals did a great job in the Montreux Jazz Festival 2003, the five songs i've heard of that concert are amazing... they did it nice...
I agree with you when say that about Canned Heat... they performed the tracks with trumpets and saxos in the Synkronized tour and sounded weird... in the AFO tour they maded the song very explosive adding titan at the end... it's quite amazing!
The old bandmembers are gone, the old sound is gone... what we got to do is accept the new things coming... i can't fight against the world and explain that the new jamiroquai sound is crap and the old one is gold... if you can't beat the enemy, just join him... hehehe
let's support jamiroquai and have a nice 2005 tour (for all those guys that are so lucky to have jamiroquai in their countries.....)
see ya.... _________________ This is FunkEducation, supporting the 1992-1998 Jamiroquai!!

i think back vocals are very good..
but it is all about a sounboard balance.
when back vocal lines are louder than they got to be,
some may not like it.. but if they are on right level
it sounds awesome!
and about space cowboy.. dont you like disco parts??
i think they sound really genious. |

Hi,
I think it is good Jamiroquai changes some parts of songs. It's annoying to hear the same standard versions over and over again, each concert. Besides I think there's no challenge left for jamiroquai if they keep playing same versions, they have to move on. Most changes I like, I hate it to hear the same version again and again. I like the new part in Verona's Alright, the new Just Another Story at Montreux 2003, the extended version of Canned Heat at Tokyo 1999, the Montreux 2002 version of Travelling Without Moving, the long versions of Love Foolosophy, etc. So there are many examples where the change of sound has done a good job! That's why Jamiroquai stands for: every time you listen to Jamiroquai live, no song is equal to another. They have to go on like that, follow the way they always do.

maybe the new voic eon the backing vocals (the fat girl) sounds like a church stuff, but the melody of the new part is not their job, i'm sur eit's Jay's arrangement, as happened with that canned heat you love so much.
the sound they give to it on 99 tour (last ones most) with horns and stuff for me is amazing and the harder sound they give on AFO tour is so diferent, i also like it but not that much, but i don't think is fair to say that the good times are gone, jamiroquai changes each song form tour to tour and even inside the same tour and thats so thankeable and its really great.
is not always a linear evolution, it comes on and back, you never know how it's gonna change
in 99 the give songs disco touch, then later in 01 more electro sound, and even later on 02 there was that electro-rock touch in most arrangements, but then in 03 all the stuff was retouched with a very jazzy sound, so you will see so many good tihngs on next concerts, i'm sure, and we all will be pleased with new stuff on old and new songs _________________
