Azymuth
I just listen to a song of Azymuth, a Brasilian group. It sounds very good! Anyone here knows more about this band?

...apologies for bringing up a post that is damn near 2 years old, but this group is absolutely wonderful. I am really, really late in discovering them, but I'm so happy I did. I heard stuff from them here and there and their name, but never paid attention, but now.... Smile

I know a few people on here dig them (some more recommendations anyone?), but incase you haven't checked them out yet. They are just real chill and have a nice rhythm.

Go here and listen to 'Jazz Carnival' - 3rd song down..

I just am really diggin' it. Here's a video too. Thanks to OKP:

I discovered Azymuth 7 years ago... way too late I might add. But thankfully it's very easy to find their older material on CD at discount prices. They've kept their style and quality throughout the years (they've been around for some 30-35 years now). Still going strong!

I am considering delving into their stuff more as I got this great 3CD set:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Disco-Heat-Kenny-Dope-Gonzalez/dp/B000189WZU/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/202-9368867-3247862?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1176985295&sr=8-1

The song Jazz Carnival was one on it that i really like but all the songs on this collection are good. The first CD is a mix of lots of different disco songs and then CD 2 + 3 contain the original versions! Definitely recommend a purchase of this for anyone who likes disco!

Anyone know an album of Azymuth's to start with?

Check out their old stuff from the 70's. Flight Over the Horizon, etc. Also, their new stuff like 'Sao Pedro' is awesome.
