The production values of the FJLIS video
hello fellow funksters.

well, i saw the FJLIS video clip yesterday morning on the televish. and ive gotta say it is a bit weak.

no values, hardly a storyline to follow, CRAP SPECIAL EFFECTS (note when the bridge of the music comes in, jay jumps the car, and it doesnt even seem rendered!) and, above all, doesn't connect with the music.

sure, The Candyman character is great, but it won't win over people based purely on the video.

here's the clincher: CRAP DIRECTING!!!!!!!

Yeah I fully agree. Jay sliding over the cars bonnet looks very fake...

I don't agree with you at all.
I like the video, especially the story bout the nerd dreaming of being cool, going to fetch a hot looking whore who turns out to be a tranvestite.
Hey, you don't see videos with such a subject very often on the telly.

I am not negative about the video too!

It pushes the song good, many people will like it, especially new and non Jamiroquai fans, and I think that is the group chosen for the first single. So it fits.

I like the play with the diffenrent characters...and i don't think the ground story is so thin...many people try to play the cool and the "street game" and fail, because it is not their world...the thrill of quick and easy sex and drugs...surely a part of Jay's experiences too.

So what do we want? Another video of Jay dancing aroung alone in a room or on sand? At least this is different, as different as this whole song in style. I don't mind the new..although I would not express myself with "Yah-huh" LOL

It does the job of relating the song to us.

It's good for me Smile

id prefer that over Jay using his Adidas's as spark-producers and holding onto the back of cars.

buffaloman_R Hello, buffaloman_R

Smile Yeah, the FJLIS video did lack in some important places, as mentioned, special effects and plot continuity Smile. I still can't imagine how they are going to do the "Seven Days In Sunny June" without either Denise Van Outen or lookalike. I mean, it's a break-up song, so JK has to be rowing with some lady, while the band happily plays in the background surrounded by the parting waves of summer sun. Thanks for listening and Peace!

Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

i like the video, the story on it is cool (the nerd dreaming being a cool man and all that), i love the car jumping part, it's not perfect but i think it's cool, we already discussed all the mirror errors on the video, but anyway i think it's a funny and good video, fits the song, and even it makes the song better

p.s. i already didn't seen it on tv Sad
