"Give Hate A Chance" [Redsoul Wet Dog Edit] &
Hello,
Thanks to Brother D for the mention of "Don't Give Hate A Chance" being picked for the 3rd single from Dynamite from the Funkin Site newsitem, I agree, good choice ! I also read on Funkin about a new early white label edit of GHAC that was apparently played on the radio, and with supplemental information about the new Time Won't Wait mix too, here's the info about it, from the Funkin Site:
In Da Mix Worldwide reported the following about this remix (from SpiritOfHouse.com), and also reveals information about a "Redsoul Wet Dog Edit" of (Don't) Give Hate A Chance:
JAMIROQUAI "Time Won't Wait" - Groove Assassin's El Beako Mix (CD-R)
JAMIROQUAI "(Don't) Give Hate A Chance" - Redsoul Wet Dog Edit (CD-R)
Just a couple of weeks after Jamiroquai released his current Dynamite LP, house mixes of the albums best cuts are seing the light of the day. Groove Assassin takes on "Time Won't Wait", taking the funked-up original straight to dancefloor with an added house groove and clever effects, creating an uplifting feeling. Redsoul reworks "(Don't) Give Hate A Chance", turning out a fierced up interpreation based on a deeply stompin' groove that will drive the dancefloors crazy.
The Redsoul remix of (Don't) Give Hate A Chance can be heard online by listening to the 10 July "Fresh Grooves Volume 304" remix at SpiritOfHouse.com (LINK: http://www.spiritofhouse.com/Mixshows.htm ). The remix can be found at approximately 1:00:40. The Time Won't Wait remix can be heard on the same show at approximately 36:45.
I have heard the GHAC mix, pretty nice, but as I said before, all these mixes, remixes, edits and other stuff can really take the vibe out of the original song in my view. Oh well, enjoy all this stuff fans and thanks for listening! Peace!
Sincerely,

Hello again,
Hehe, well, first off, welcome to JamiroTalk JaMi2o, hope you have a great time here, contribute to the discussions here and meet some great friends . Second off, I think that is a little TOO "crystal ball" looking, they haven't even gotten around to the video for "Seven Days" yet, which I'm guessing they will be filming in the next 2 weeks. But I can imagine a very "Canned Heat" meets "Little L" chaotic video for GHAC, but must keep my aim on "Seven Days" for now. Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,

i think dont give hate a chance is one of the worst songs on the album after world that he wants, there are much better tracks on the album like dynamite, starchild, black devil car which im 100% certain would sell alot more than dont give hate a chance, never mind, he has enough money anyway |

At least the fact we don't know which tracks are going to be picked as singles means the album is definately not short of options!
On AFO, the singles they would choose was entirely predictable, but on Dynamite almost any track is good enough to be one! _________________

bleh
Why do these DJ's make any money or get any notoriety for these 'remixes'..they just turn down the original drums and add the classic thumping house beat...and loop the break vocals. It's sad. Not to take away from your post or anything, Brent. It's just that these remixes take away from the original song instead of adding - should be a crime, haha. |

I think remixes shouldn't exist, this is such a horrible way of wasting great tracks, amazing melodies with those corny and repetitive beats.
why to remix a track when you know you're not going to improve it?
I hate them! _________________

Hello Jamirotalkers,
I think remixes are made for one reason: the people who make the remixes wants to be known. I think it's alright making one or two good remixes of a song, I just don't see why making 7 remixes of the same song, doesn't make any sense! It gets boring, when I listen the 8-track single of 'Supersonic', I have to listen to it in two halfs cause it gets very repetitive.

I completely agree Diego! So many remixes of the same song can begin to sound tediously similar and very repetitive...I don't think this does the DJs much of a favour either!
