Article in Dutch newspaper
Although Jamiroquai isn't that popular in Holland, since Dynamite there is more attention for the band. SDIDJ is played much more often than any Jamiroquai song ever and last week I even read an article in a Dutch newspaper (!):
It's titled "The wink of Jamiroquai" and tells mainly about Jay himself.
Article quote:
"It goes well with the man who introduced, with his debut album Emergency on Planet Earth in 1993, a new genre in popmusic: a mix of soul, disco, jazz and funk based on old influences from Chic to Sly & the Family Stone. Sony was that enthousiastic about this new revelation that they offered the band a nice contract for producing 7 albums. There was no time limit, the band got carte blanche. Well, they have known that at Sony. Twelve years later the counter is only set at 5. Jamiroquai takes the time to produce a new album."
In the article Jay says: "The time is over when artists could get away with only 2 or 3 good songs on an album and fill the rest with some junk. Every song has to be a hit. That puts a great pressure on artists nowadays and that's the reason it took us 4 years before we released this album." _________________
